I am a noobie and been pouring through tutorials. This is the best one of them all. Dude you are a gifted teacher. Looking forward to going through your library!
I have been an instructor for 34 years and let me say that you are a natural. Your way of teaching is as complete as I have seen. You are so comfortable talking to the camera and your explanations are to the point. I just started learning about 3D printing. Your numerous videos on 3D printers, Tinkercad, Cura and most important, your video on what can and will go wrong and how to troubleshoot it, are OUTSTANDING!!! Thank you for sharing with the rest of us.
Wow. You made my day. Thank you so much for all the kind words. Teaching is my passion. I hope one day I can just do this and teach everything about this awesome hobby.
As a total beginner your video is invaluable to me. Great content, well thought out and clearly articulated. Many thanks for all the time and effort that you put in to your videos..
Thank you. Your tutorial are so helpful. I wanted to just sell my printer but now I feel more comfortable that I understand the basics. Can't wait to watch more tutorials and learn more. Thank you again.
A good introduction for people new to 3D printing. Just a couple of comments: 1. Shell thickness - in Cura 5 (and other slicers using Arachne engine), it is possible to print walls which are narrower or wider than the nozzle size. But that's for more advanced users. 2. Tree supports can actually use more filament than normal supports; it depends on the model. 3. Saving files - it's good practice (particularly for projects with multiple prints) to include estimated time and filament usage in the file name as it helps with organising your printing schedule, eg Gecko_4h06m_172g
Watched another channel's Cura Beginner "tutorial" before this one. Learned a little bit, but got blasted with "life advice" midway through the presentation. This, however, is top-tier education. Learned so much from this and it encouraged me to dig in more.
Great video. I've been 3D printing for over 5 years and I still picked up some good information from this video. That's what I love about this hobby.. you never stop learning.
I have watched so many video tutorials I was becoming extremely overwhelmed. Most of them just say “adjust this setting” but don’t explain how. Your going in depth for the different settings is immensely helpful. Thank you!
Newbie 3 months in using Buildbee, tomorrow I start with Cura because of you and your skills both as teacher & technical translator putting everything into easy to understand format , I applaud you as I think everyone else does Thank you Sir !!!
Thankyou for this tutorial and up and coming tutorials. This will be a massive help to all people that have 3d printers, cos there has been massive influx people buying 3d printers and are just learning the basics. Great job will be watching to see any pointers that may help me more.
Your welcome and to your point that is exactly why I created this. Anything I can do to help new people starting out. I remember the frustration I had when I got into 3D printing 9 years ago. Back then there wasn’t much out there but forums. 😅
Excellent tutorial. Thank you very much! ^_^ Ideal for anyone who needs to learn about FDM 3D printing like me. (In this case I am transitioning from SLA to filament). Thank you very much. Very well taught
I just ordered my machine today and have been watching videos all day on how to run the software and your video is by far the best detailed I’ve seen so far
Glad I could help! Hope they turn out to be useful for you! Good luck printing. Be sure to join the free discord to ask questions if you ever get stuck.
@@ItsMeaDMaDe So many videos are so quickly spoken Its really important to be able to stop and run a bit again PS your amazing moustache was slightly out on the right hand side - please ensure its matching !!!!!!
I am fairly new to 3D printing and wanted to know everything about Cura before actually printing something. Currently, I am about halfway through all of the settings in Cura and have to say that your in-depth videos are amazing. Sure, you are not covering EVERY setting in each category, but most of what are important and that is great anyway. I hope you are doing well and look forward to your next video. Have a good one.
Thank you so much! My son wants a 3D printer for Christmas and I am clueless. This tutorial helped me so much. I feel confident getting him started now.
Excellent information & very clear for beginners like me. My biggest issues are finding a genuine 3D model & unzip it to turn it into a G code. The rest can be figured out. Thank you
Hi just a word to say THANKS FOR A BRILLIANT VIDEO I am a fairly new to 3D printing I started off using Cura , but never really liked it ,so moved on to Prusa , that had its fault's but , I had forgotten the little bit I knew of Cura . But after watching this video I have realised I did not know that much of Cura, you explain everything so simple and at the correct speed for taking it in. I can not thank you enough I have got a different look to Cura now, I think this is my go to now. THANKS STUART
Hey Stuart! I just want to say thank you as well. That was the goal of this video. Help people get comfortable with the program it has a lot offer and it can do just about anything you can think of as long as you have the right settings
A big compliment, clear explanation and visual representation. Thank you for this explanation and if I can't find something I will open this explanation and I will probably find it. Thank you very much!
Just as a matter of Interest if you are getting reasonable Models - Just Print a few while you are listening to this Video - you can then look at waht is going wrong So far the best Videos so far
Cura works well on Linux too btw 👍😊. My old laptop struggled with Windows 10, so I threw out windows and installed Linux Mint almost a year ago. Installing Cura was easy, and I have been using Cura For Linux almost a year now.
I have been printing for sometime and just make sure is was flat to the baseplate. I never found the right video to simply explain Cura. Being older finding out how things work in a simple way is brilliant. Loved this video so now will try more in the settings, the supports trees and touching build plate helps a lot.
Thank you for the video. I found it really informative. I have been using Cura for about a month and getting awful results. Now I have a little insight hopefully I will get better prints. I intend to follow along on all your 3D printing posts. Thank you for the effort you put in.
That’s great! I’m glad it helped you. I have a full deep dive series where I explain everything you need to know about Cura once your ready to really get in the weeds with the program.
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You, I now know what I have been doing wrong, I was about to send back my printer but now I know it was my fault and not the printer.
Thanks Bro ! I watched this video/tutorial A few times and I still didn't take in all the information. Great work 👏 I'm a novice and this helped me a SH!T ton.
