The wire jigs are meant for use with dead soft wire. You can then harden the wire by hammering it or squeezing it between nylon jaw pliers, but a harder wire would not work as well with the jig.
I don't really get what is the use of this. What can you do with those curly wire pieces? Do you have any examples in any other video? I am curious. ;-)
