This is an excellent case study of why you have to put the terminal SNP first in figuring out where to put your research resources. If the person had only done a Y-111 test, they would have spent years and a heap of money trying to connect their line to the closest genetic distance match. But because they did the Big Y, they found out that that was not the real closest match. The Big Y is definitely more expensive in the short run. But in this case, it has saved a great deal of wasted resources so that the Big Y was by far the best bang for your buck -- a drop in the bucket compared to what would have been spent chasing the wrong connection. Well done
