Cat, I just want say something. Near the end of your video you kept saying how excited you were to read the Bible and how you’re constantly learning. I could sense that emotion when you were talking. I love it when people love the Lord that much that you can sense it in their voice. Love your videos and finally subscribed. You are such a humble sister in Christ.
My husband and I just went to the Dake Publishing House( we live about 15 minutes away) and met his grandson. Needless to say after a nice chat with him , we left with two bibles (a Large to turn into our family bible/study bible for my husband; and a compact for my personal use) at a really good price and we are eager to dive deeper into our faith.
Thank you for explaining this. I bought the Dakks Bible and wasn't sure where to start. This has been so helpful. Like you I study with 3 or 4 bibles at the same time. I will certainly be able to get into this now.
Greetings my family in Christ💜 I just received this bible on Sunday March 27, 2022 from Amazon. I was so excited to receive it. When I opened it I prayed and thanked GOD for his inspired word and asked that HE help me to use this resource to understand (HIM) better. Then I opened it and became overwhelmed at how large it is and all the information it contained. I thought to myself how can I learn ALL this and where do I begin? Then I closed the book and took a deep breathe…. Then today, I came back to it, wrote my name and address inside, dedicated a page to myself and Spirit as I do with all my personal books and began to explore. I thought the book would come with some instructions or a dvd on how best to use it. Especially looking for the 8000 sermon outlines. Well, all this lead me to this video. Thank you for the review, it’s a good start, I still have many questions, I am looking forward to all the new discoveries within. Thanks for this video. I got 3 dakes bibles like over 20 years ago 2 large ones for relatives & compact for myself. I got it cause my father had it & use to study the dispensations. I dug it out cause I wanted to start trying to study the Bible again. I’m so excited to learn to study the word of GOD consistently in my private time. Thanks again for this video

Cat, great review and I liked you lead-in. As my Grandfather use to say “me, or me, or my”! This Bible has so much information, I have never seen anything like it. When you review a new Bible, I get so excited I want to rush and buy it, because you explain how you are using it step-by-step, and it is so helpful. Now I have so many new Bibles that I’m not sure which one to start with first. I’ve been thinking about starting with Battlefield of the Mind because you have a lot of video’s on that one, and right now my mind is in a battle mode. I just picked up my Dake Study Bible today. I had one some years ago in my home and I loved all the study notes but it wasn't mine to keep. Good few years have passed but this past week I found one in a bookshop that is closing and I got it for much less than it normally costs. I am very excited too now that I have this Bible for study. Like you I have many Bibles, I am not without God's Word in my house but this Bible is different because of the hours one man put into the study of God's Word. I know some people have something to say about different theologies and doctrines but this man dedicated his life to the study of God's Word. I am amazed too at all your highlights and notes as you study. I hope that I can do some more serious reading and study now that I have this particular Bible. Thank you for your delightful review.
Sis, you have done so much more for my walk than you will know. It's because of YOUR inspiration that I have this wonderful collection of bibles. I never had them before I started watching your love for our Lord and His Word. I had one bible. Not that having a collection will make me a better Christian, but watching you explain what you do, which bibles you use, inspired me greatly. The bibles I do have now are from watching your channel and working out whether it would be right for my walk. I use them in different seasons, and am truly blessed that I am able to have even just one bible of my very own. I love the "garden" idea. I've gotten several ideas from you, now I want NEW bible with wide margins. My bible is so written on it's sad. I do have one that I won't be writing in, it's too special. It's a good first bible without my thoughts. I have a feeling it is meant for some one else.

Thank YOU for sharing your love for the book. Before finding your channel, I knew that there were different translations and styles, but I didn't realize how many different Bibles there were out there. I'll admit that I got 2 or 3 Bibles after watching your reviews. Oh, and don't forget about the scripture journal from Church Publisher. That was a wonderful gem, which reminds me, I need to look for my copy... and work on filling it some more. Maybe one of these days I'll have enough stuff to write about to get a second one. For now, I will continue to watch and learn more about the different books out there. I think I'm up to 6 Bibles right now, where I am working and journaling in 1 (there were 2, but I ended up giving that one to my coworker). Thank you once again for all the videos you share. Cathy, is it large print or the 8.5? How is the layout different? I am planning to purchase and can go with the NKJV or KJV but prefer the larger print. Thanks for your reply!
what a beautiful video. Thanks for sharing. I do the same as you and have a couple of "just" the Bibles which I read from and then use study bibles to gain more knowledge. I really get your excitement and love for the word :-) god bless
Thank You so much Cat , i gotta get that large print , i have the standard 8 pt font dake and the study notes are 6 pt, so it makes it a bit more difficult to study longer than an hour . I personally learn a lot from most of the notes, like they say chew the meat and spit out the bones, i'm glad you took a stand for us who appreciate the dake study bible, God You sister.
Awe your so very welcome sister it truly breaks my heart when I see so many so ready & willing to jump and attack another Christian for simply no reason at all IMHO it's go against everything the bible says. Now they would have a leg to stand on if I was claiming this bible to be the ONLY TRUE WAY TO READ GOD'S WORD! But I'm not nor will I ever as I stated in my video. I hope they will watch my video and understand is all bit more. There is a time and a season for us all. Most importantly we are all not on the same Spiritual level or path. The sooner we can all understand this and remember the sooner we will all become ONE BODY OF CHRIST. Not divided because of translations or church. Great review of a great study tool! This study bible has been updated a while back in a little better carrying size and the print is pretty good size too. It's easier to carry than the large print and easier to read than the old standard size. Later on maybe you should consider getting one of those. Love your reviews!
I want one for sure. I haven't been able to find one that size that's not a hardcover. I know God will open the right doors at the right time so I'm able to add one to my study collection

The moment we believe, trust and have faith in Jesus Christ and know God’s Word no about of study notes should influence a believer to believe differently from what already know, for instance I’ve read study bibles that claim a believer can lose their salvation or that our own works merits are needed for salvation etc the Dake’s study bible is a great tool to understand other peoples opinions, or Peter RuckMan reference bible, like any study bible it’s just a tool, God’s Word is pure man’s ideas are not that’s how I approach every study bible, great video and I enjoy the DAKE study bible too lots of information. just as an additional comment to my previous one... when I was teaching Philippians it took me 8 months or about 34 weeks to go thru 4 chapters.... Ezekiel .....I went a little bit faster on.. we finished that in 2 years......but I think we should have taken 4 years...I plan on trying to teach Genesis... but I think the first 4 chapters will probablay take 1 year maybe more... I do not know if I will be around long enough to teach it all the way thru.. If I get a chance to start teaching Genesis now.. I may compete it.. in12 years... I like to use live action when I teach..... one time when teaching the Gospel of John.. I thru a plastic trash bag over my clothing..( I did Not have a burlap sack).. and I taight the class with the sack over my clothes to emulate to the congregation.. how John the Baptist.. may have appeared to the the ones coming to him seeking the way..to..repentance before Jesus came..and how John the Baptist may have seemed to the Pharisees...
I called my dad and asked what commentary or study guid i should buy. He told me to just buy a Dake bible. Im glad i did, its the best Bible with study notes, sermon outlines and concordance you can buy.
Thank you for your enthusiasm for Go words I i’m one of the few people where I live who uses the old king James Bible which God showed me in 2011 was a perfect word for the English speaking People. I have recently come across this bible and it is terrific as is the Peter Ruckman Study Bible which is not really readily available in this country except for Time and For Truth Ministry in the UK. I can understand your excitement the king James rival comes from the Holy Spirit the others have got mistakes in them and they come from different texts. Yes what you are doing with all your colours and analysis as it were it’s from gods fruit I believe and you are doing more Timothy Charles is to do to study the word of God not just to read Please enjoy your king James Bible if that Dake study Bible Makes you study God’s words even more that is a wonderful thing. Don’t take any notice of Joe blogs and these are the negative people as they probably have not rent that viable. It’s like I find so many people experts on the King James Bible telling me how you can’t understand it or they can’t understand it but they never read it. I was pulled over by your terrific enthusiasm. One little negative in the book of Malachi the text size dragons and the note says jackals that’s what the modern Bible says - although Dake Does not change the text. The king James Bible is perfect. The God of Israel has given the English-speaking people are perfect viable. Baruch HaShem ! I’m happy to hear that you too are not influenced by different study note opinions, my pastor pretty much just believes in using the companion Bible for everything and not use any study Bibles or Bible commentary’s because mans opinion doesn’t matter which I disagree with study notes shouldn’t change our mind if we’re already sealed with Gods truth
Exactly what I say and think. It's kinda scary to see just how many Christians can be easily persuaded or in "Fear" being persuaded into changing their own minds or following after some man's notes, thoughts, reflections, etc. Idk I've ran to the beat of my own drum and for this I'm very thankful for. Can you please explain how to search the Notes section at the end of the Books. Example: Genesis 9 v25 On the side (letter d) it says 'see 18 curses of Scriptures p.95' Then i go to p. 95 and find it, Canaan 9:25.... i have no idea where this leads or any other name with just number refs Same for letter a (same page) it says "referring to Ham, see note c, 6:10' I have searched and searched and could not find it.... Please help!!
Just curious how you feel about the Thompson Chain Reference. I am going to look closer at the Dake. I also found a nice study Bible called the Freedom in Christ one year study Bible that works well with my other Bibles
Look how many issues Jonah had, and God still used him to bring a whole city to repentance. I feel that way about Dake, maybe had some issues, but God can still use him. I love the lists!
Right Amen sister... this is no different than any other STUDY BIBLE!!! We should be coming to them with discernment from the Holy Spirit. Why people feel it's okay to follow what others have said instead of forming a opinion for themselves. It's so weird to me. If I don't agree with the study note I overlooked it and move on it's still the inspired word of God.
You should get one the layout is different. If I can find a way to send you a pick of the layout all the notes are at the bottom and the text at the top. It's very easy on the eye. Thank you for posting this and now I have one. It's so so worth it. Especially as a beginner. It's a wow bible. And like you say dont knock it until you try it. I love your reviews. I've bought several bibles from your reviews. The next bible I have my eye on is the Thompson Chain. NkJV. but it's not available in the UK.
I am so happy that you have a Dakes bible! The other book you should get is Dakes “God’s plan for man”. Also, question : why do you have a catholic Mary candle? Most Christians don’t have that kind of item around the home. Just curious.

Hey Cat... has the Lord ever convicted you to do a review of the NON Large Print edition of the Dake's Bible?... I would love to see the regular edition previewed....
First off I wanted to say. That though I have owned a couple of these bibles for about 30 years. In the past I only briefly used them here and there as I found the notes in many cases to be 90% outlines. Which I realized I could make my own outlines. And though zi was attending a KJV church at the time many there were loathe to use a Dakes bible due to his ideas regarding th Gap theory and other ideas. So I never stayed with it. But I saw a review that stated this bible had come to be censored in 1997. Due to his racial views. Needless to say this sparked my curiosity. So I have ordered a couple older ones off eBay to see for myself. And sure enough on pg 159 in the left column notes there are remarks regarding the need for segregation. In the updated notes several words are changed and the word segregation was changed to separation. But that is neither here nor there since I , like you allow God to move my spirit where He will That being said I have been using this Danes for my daily scripture reading. And each month I make it a point to completely read thru Proverbs My question is can you help me to understand the end of Proverbs 19:26 there is a note before verse 27 begins that reads 79 proverbs (19:27-22:16) and yet when I go through those verses I count 80. And his counting is very disjointed as the Bible goes to number 66 then starts a new outline with 27:16. Can you tell me why this is. ? If you read thru Dakes in any detail you will often times find his outlines or numberings throughout the verses are very hard to follow.

I appreciate your thoughts on this bible... but in regards to coming across.. like scripture that is found in more than one place in the bible.. this has happened to me several times... because there are several instances of this where it seems scripture is lifted and transplanted in a different book of the bible.... but you DO know many bibles have reference notes pointing this out.... correct?.. Many people do not ever take time to read the center column references (or as some..... like the Open Bible.... have them at the end of each verse)....... finding scripture transplanted elsewhere in scripture.. would Not come as a surprise for any one.. who . has read their bible multiple times thru.and .diligently ..reading all the references.... it may be better if some .do like I do... maybe take 10 years or so to read the bible thru once... and each verse.. read and follow all the references to each verse one by one... while reading their verse for the day.....many beople today.. read their bibles thru in a year.. (they used to preach on the importance of it... at my old church.. and people in the congregation.. would always talk about what place they were at in their scripture reading week by week)...I kept quiet because some weeks I only read 1 chapter or less.. but I was very thorough.. and did Not miss much... sometimes I would use multiple reference bibles.. and follow references in one that another one did not show as well...Dakes is a good bible.. and its system of listings in it's notes.. makes it pretty much one of a kind...
I review whatever I can get my hands on. I wish I had the money to purchase every single Bible on the market that would be amazing. I am working with many different publishers who send them their Bibles for my honest review so that has been a huge blessing to my channel and to them too.

I will say the Bible does have amazing notes. Dake did have many doctrinal issues such as denying the Trinity and the original had many racist notes. Use discernment as with anything.
The date is loaded with information 35,000 plus notes theirs only one bible that I've seen with more notes and thats the Perry stone prophetic hebraic study Bible I've never seen nothing like it they say the Bible is equaled to a 4 year Bible School just a wealth of information please do a bible on that bible take care God bless
I have had the Dake Bible for over 20 years. It is falling apart. As you I have grown spiritually and moved on to other study Bibles. However I still find myself while studying remember something from the Dake, that I have to go back and take another look at the study notes.
