I liked this video much more than others because it goes straight to the basics and to the point on how to use this carpet cleaner without all of the unnecessary talking.
We have the earliest model of a Hoover Steam Vac w/ upholstery attachments, it’s still going strong after decades of heavy use! With 7 dogs, 1 Chihuahua, 5 Chihuahua/Jack Russell mixes and 1 Min Pin, it keeps the entire house clean. We use it on hard surface floors daily, carpets and upholstery every 45 days. We were given a brand new Bissell, similar model, we used it just to do the carpets not traveled on by our dogs, within 1 year the plastic on it started randomly breaking, one day out of the blue the engine seized, it’s dead! If the Hoover ever croaks, we’d buy it again!
***Not too hot of water or you will damage seal of water tank it's happened to me and then again when I left it to a friend obviously they didn't heed my advice. They just leak like crazy after that and suction is lost on Hoover and Bissell
I've had this machine for 3 years and just used it today and that's because I'm minimizing a lot of costs in my now changed lifestyle and am no longer using carpet cleaning companies. I went straight to youtube and chose this video for guidance. I'm soooo glad I did. The gentlemen was spot on with instructions and got right to it. And certain comments and tips from users helped greatly as well. Thanks a bunch!
GOOD VIDEO KOOPER.......I have had mine for over 20 years and it still works fine. Important thing to do is periodically look at the long narrow suction opening in the front of the unit. You will have to lean the unit on it's back to see this. This area gets clogged all the time because it's so narrow. You can clean it out without taking the unit apart. Get a long wooden coffee stirring stick....like the ones at Starbucks. Stick it in at the furthest point to the right and pry the dirty wet fuzz out. These sticks are long so you can get pretty far up into the clear plastic covering. Do the same procedure from the left side now. I recently cleaned mine and enough wet dirty fuzz came out to fill a small coffee cup. Another real important thing to check is the little plastic window where you can see the circle spinning that shows the scrubbing brushes are indeed moving. That clear plastic cover pulls off. There is a very obvious rectangular square with a screen in it. pull any lint from it.
thanks... i just took my mom's steamvac and ran home ...i have no idea what im doing now that i just got home i gotta run up and get the carpet cleaning solution lol
Thank you thank you thank you so much. Thank you Gracias Gracias Gracias it take me long time to find where they go each part of these back yet but when you help you made my day thank you so much.
Another worthless carpet cleaner. My fiance buys a new carpet cleaner every year! Theyre all cheap, plastic, chinese pieces of shit. The attachments fail after a few uses, the vacuum power expectedly fails to produce maximum lift shortly after purchase. But my woman refuses to order a small commercial unit, why, she doesnt know! Has no idea! Too big? Too expensive? $400-$600 is cheaper than replacing $5k in furniture and carpets and 5 carpet cleaners at $100-$175 each.
Wonderful. How do you get plastic off front, the cover that is over front suction. I got mine 2nd hand, very dirty You make it look easy and marvelous. Thank you
So with this I won't need to take my big area rug and runner rugs outside to clean them? Will this damage my lvp flooring if I clean them inside? Can I use it to clean my lvp flooring too or will I need to buy a separate machine for lvp flooring? Can I use it to clean my couches too?

thanks. I have not used mine in several years, and I had NEVER used the attachment, which I need to use now (to do the upholstery on a car I am selling)
You showed us on the water holding tank on bottom the rubber seal etc but inside the water tank I need to know what goes on inside of it that lines up with lower tank
Is the dirty water tank supposed to suck back in the 'spill' into that tank?? Because mine is not, how can i make it do that & why is it not(?) ThankU anyone,
Make sure that your lid is secured correctly if it is not snapped into place correctly it will not have suction please explain your problem better if this is not the answer I am a little confused
I am missing the clean water tank piece at your time 1:08 on the video. When you empty it the water just comes out of the hole because there is nothing blocking it. Do you know what I’m talking about or where to buy that part? Thx!
I also have a Hoover. 15 yrs now. Just clean it good after using it. There is a little screen in the bottom. Make sure you clean lint off the screen.. As long as you take good care of it, it will take care of you.
Make sure the dirty water tank cover is place on correctly and the rubber gasket is in place on the dirty water tank also check to see if the connector from the hose to the dirty water tank is connected so there’s no lose of suction
Absolutely great video. A clear understandable explanation of all the moving parts and how to access them. Mysteries of the universe made simple. Thank you!
Thanks so much for this video . My dad knew how to use it and he gave me the Hoover steam cleaner ( not exactly the same like your ) however it is similar . He now has dementia therefore can not show me of how to use it . Your video is very good one , you show us where to put the water + plus the name of the solution and how to put all parts together to make it works . Without this video i completely loss and may have to bring the machine to goodwill . Again thanks a lot
You can pick up almost any jug of carpet cleaner and put it in there just some of them might be more soapy and you'll have to dump the bucket quicker than others
I got one of these carpet cleaners as a hand-me-down and this video helped tremendously as I am cleaning the carpets for the new babies nursery thank you so much for leaving this video up!❤
Had this machine for years. Got far better results by using science and common sense INSTEAD of their instructions. Their way, the soap gets one second to work on the dirt, then gets sucked up. My way: I take out the upholstery tool bypass on the recovery tank, and it defeats the vacuum. I then pull the machine backward while the soap gets sprayed then scrubbed into the carpet. Then I make a second pass, maybe third, with clear hot water, and vacuum restored. The ten minutes of soap soaking while I was doing the rest of the area makes ALL the difference! Then I finish with the brushes turned off to dry the carpet, because the switch cuts the brush turbine out of the air flow, increasing head suction.
Thank you this is much appreciated I couldn't find any owner's manuals or anything and I have the same type of cleaner and I had to relearn everything but thank you I can now clean my apartment
This helped my girlfriend and I to realize that everything was, indeed, hooked up correctly, and our rug cleaner is not working as it should. Thank you very much!
Fabulous video you didn't bullshit around like everyone else. I have got to get that upholstery brush cleaner. Of course mine doesn't have that one. Thanks for the awesome info.
Hi Florida Man! Washington State here, I appreciate your post, I gave you a 👍 and subscribed. Your tutorial was well done! I couldn't find my manual, and only use the Hoover once a year and I always forget the steps to use the machine. So you video was very helpful! Thank you Sir! 😊
Thank you SO much! I have a very old Hoover steam vac, but it’s been so long since I’ve used it. Your post got right to it, and everything was clean and concise. Many thanks!!!
Thanks for the info I really appreciate it and was super useful. I’ve always had a Hoover. And now I know how to use one properly I can help my mom shampoo the carpet since I have one dog and two cats so it really makes the house messy thanks again you were amazing if I could I’d definitely give you over 5 stars
I have a question how is the water coming through the brush? I saw you connect the brush to the tank but did you attach the small round part that you unhooked in the beginning?
Have the same model F6030-900. Is that the same model you’ve got? I haven’t used mine for quite some time but when needed it does come in very handy. It’s so handy that my family asks to borrow it occasionally.
