How to use your Nightfox Prowl night vision monocular

I agree, no camera, more robust, metal dove tail mount, water and fog resistant. With that said I really like the Prowl and well worth the money. Keep up the great work and making night vision affordable.

Yes. The Prowl comes with a dovetail mount that is compatible with Wilcox G24 style mounts. I hope this helps!

Great questions! We have no plans to put other firmware updates out at the moment, we currently have only one, to fix a freezing error with the Prowl if its recording speed is set to 60fps. Which can be found on our website blog, if you are unsure message us and we will provide a link. Thank you for your comments on the different views and your experience with ambient light, we don't have any solutions at this time as you are the first to have mentioned this, but thank you for letting us know and we will look into it.

Great question! Yes, they are two separate devices, which though mounted together, you would need to adjust separately once attached to the dual mount. I hope this is helpful.

@@adziup haven't tried it. I was thoroughly impressed with Nightfox products though. Iv tried several other Digital NVG that claimed gen3 performance and they just didn't stack up.

Great question! The Prowl's sensor is sensitive to ambient light at night, however the Corsac is still our most sensitive device to ambient light. I hope this is helpful.

Great question! We do not have an app for the Prowl to watch videos on. You can use the micro USB cable provided to download the videos from the SD card to your computer or laptop, or you can use a micro SD card reader to transfer the files. Hi there, thanks for your comment. Our focus right now is on making digital as good as we can get it. Right now the best way to reduce any lag is to use a high level of infrared, but we hope the sensors will get better and better with each iteration!

Great question! Yes you can plug the Prowl into a USB power bank whilst in use, however we do not recommend removing the battery and I don't believe it would charge if you did remove it. I hope this is helpful!

Great question. Yes! We have a short bit of footage from around 2:05 displaying the green screen filter which shows it without any other IR illuminators present, than the one built in to the device itself. I hope this helps!

Great question! The Prowl comes with a dovetail mount that is compatible for Wilcox G24 style mounts, the j arm and skull crusher mount won't be compatible with the dovetail mount and so it won't work for mounting the Prowl. I hope this is helpful!

Great question! Yes, you can charge it whilst the Prowl is in use to extend the battery life. Just turn the Prowl on and then plug it in to a portable battery. You can use it plugging in charging, whilst you are recording video as well. I hope this helps!

Hello, I am so sorry to hear you are experiencing this. It sounds like there may be a fault with your Prowls regarding the IR lens retracting. You may be able to tap or flick around the IR lens in order to dislodge it whilst pressing the IR increase button, but this is not ideal. The Prowl has proved to be very popular and unfortunately we are out of stock everywhere. We do have more Prowls on the way to our UK warehouse and should arrive in Feb 2024, in the EU in March 2024 and USA customers can purchase from our Nightfox website when they arrive in Feb 2024, if Amazon.com is out of stock. Great question. You can remove the battery, but it is not recommended. If you want to extend the battery life for any reason we would recommend use an additional USB power bank to charge the Prowl whilst on the go, the same power banks used to charge mobile phones. I hope this helps!

Great question! Yes, the Prowl can be used with the IR off and can be used with an additional IR illuminator of your choice, as long as it is within the range of 850nm or 940nm. I hope this helps!

@@nightfoxnightvision yes! It is good feature if it can be used as a "passive device" just to scan larger area to detect any other IR light sources.

You can definitely use the Prowl to spot other IR light sources, with its own IR set to zero, so your IR signature is not visible to other IR users. @@VacumOvale

@@nightfoxnightvision does it remember the last setting? Or does it always start with IR on automatic like the cheap chinese NV devices? And then you have to manually crank down the IR until it is OFF
