For any smart or Non-Smart device: Use an Android Phone as a TV remote With or Without internet: Get TV remote control applications for Smart and non Smart TV with or without Wifi.
If you have a smart TV, make sure both your Smart TV and mobile are connected to the same wifi connection to be able to use it as a remote. This works with any smart TV, smart TV box, Android box and all streaming devices that work with wifi like Roku, Firestick, Apple TV and so on.
If you have a non smart TV. Non smart televisions don't connect to wifi, so you will absolutely need a phone with a built-in IR Blaster to use your mobile as a TV remote. Here is how to check if your phone has one:

Hi, you absolutely need a remote to scan for antenna HDTV channels. You can get a universal remote or install an app in your phone, search key words ( Remote for Coby TV). When you install an app, find your TV in the list to connect. There is much I can tell you about this because it's not easy for non-smart TVs. Yes, you don't need data when you use your phone as a remote for non-smart devices. Just turn it off after you set up the application. Make sure you choose an app with the IR option for non-smart devices. More important, make sure your phone has an IR Blaster to do this because non-smart Tvs do not connect to wifi. You can't use a phone as a remote with a smart tv if it's not connected to wifi. The only way to connect in this case if through infrared, check if your phoe has an IR Blaster. Yes, you can use any phone with any Smart TV that CONNECTS TO WIFI. Just make sure that your phone and TV are connected to the same wifi connection. You can only use a phone with infrared Ir Blaster as a a remote with nonsmart devices. But you can use that phone with a smart Tv as a remote through wifi. The phone I used in the video is a Samsung s6, this phone has a built-in IR Blaster. Hi, as far as your TV brand is in the IR Blaster list in the app. One more thing make sure your phone has IR Blaster when you are using your phone as a remote for NON-SMART DEVICES, this is how to test if your phone has an IR Blaster: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cbVVjw0to68.html If you have a Smart Tv, you don't need IR blaster in your phone. Hi, it doesn't work on hotspot. Both your TV and phone have to to be connected to one same source wifi connection if you have a Smart TV. If you have a Non-smart Tv, non-smart devices do not connect to internet, so you don't need to connect your TV to wifi, but you need to make sure your phone has IR Blaster: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cbVVjw0to68.html

Hi, make sure both your Smart TV and phone are connected to the same wifi connection, otherwise it won't work. You need to find your TV brand in the list in the app. If you have a non-smart TV, non-smart televisions do not connect to wifi, so you will absolutely need an IR Blaster in your phone to control it through infrared, very few phones today come with infrared. iPhone 13 or any iPhone should work as a remote. Make sure both your TV and phone are connected to the same wifi connection. If your TV is not connected to wifi, you will not be able to use it, you need to connect your TV to wifi first. So, you need a remote for that. If your Tv is already connected to the same wifi, all you need is just install a remote app. Or best solution, get an Android phone with IR Blaster because iPhones do not come with an IR Blaster, any android with infrared IR Blaster can connect to any TV through infrared (IR Blaster). You absolutely need a remote, it's better to get a spare universal remote that you can use with any device. You can't connect without a remote because you need a keyboard to enter your pass.
