Thank you very much Jack. Very helpful, inspiring and practical advice. I plan to begin teaching online after a CELTA course. Quite daunting to me to be honest at the age of 60. I want to be able to work from my home and be more self-sufficient and not reliant upon any corporate or government institution. I am so ignorant of how to teach online and actually about how to teach, in general. However, I am keen to do a course and become an English teacher. Thanks again.

Hi everyone... for those of you thinking about purchasing a super expensive bad ass webcam to use for classes... there's an app called 'droidcam' that enables you to use your smartphone as a webcam. With Snap Camera for Windows, you can apply filters to your image and turn your classes into a nice experience.

You might want to try turning on original sound in the soom audio settings. This will then let you toggle on original sound during your video conference.

I found the problem and perhaps the solution,Only meetings and webinars on the Zoom Desktop Client support stereo audio. Recordings and the Zoom Mobile App don't support stereo audio (audio will be mono),to enable it ,we have to go to account settings,meeting tab, allow users to enable stereo audio.

Todd Sykorski No, the delay or latency problem cannot be addressed with this feature. You could try using an Ethernet cable (LAN) instead of WiFi to slightly reduce latency.

Great vid. Two things. 1) The missing feature from Zoom is the ability to upload a document like a lesson plan PDF onto the Whiteboard, correct? 2) Doesn’t your external mic get in the way of the keyboard and/or cause issues if you are moving around when teaching kids? I know you mentioned lapel clip mics. But personally I think a good quality headset (earphones + mic) is the best solution. Thoughts?

How do you preload things to your "desktop" so you can easily move from one thing to another during a lesson? Also, I have 8 lessons back to back. Can I preload each lesson "desktop" so all 8 lessons are ready before beginning to teach? Thank you so much for your help.

Lauren Koshar he’s using the term “desktop” to refer to the main Windows or Mac screen - the one with all the icons, images and application windows. The recommendation is to preload or start your applications first before you conduct your zoom meeting. That way you don’t need to minimize Zoom to load a browser page or spreadsheets or whatever you plan to share.

I believe that whatever is open will be an option for you to share. When I was playing around with it, I had Paintshop Pro open and it was one of my options to share.

Brilliant,, so very helpful, I just shared the link to a Facebook Group. I'd like to ask a question about Zoom that really has me flummoxed :) I am sharing audio though the share screen as you suggested in another video, but during one of my classes I have to do a voice over with background music. I have tried several set ups but it seems impossible to "hear" what my people are hearing, it is very different at their end as it is in the room with me. The best result so far has been using a recording shield but even then I have my mic at 8 and my music at 3 & the balance goes as soon as I change the room / anything. Any thoughts?

There's an option in Zoom when sharing screen to only send the audio from that application.

Thnx for sharing your video's , I have a question. we teach now live sport/dance classes on line as long as we have to, do to the corona Covid 9 crisis. the video about that really helped with sharing music but now we have a other problem now they can't hear us speak, to give directions and motivate them . is there a solution for that. In normal settings we have a portable/corless headset . but here we can't find a solution hope you know one. oh one other question can we pin 2 teachers at the same time who are at different locations ? Thnx already for a response.

Our entire school (about ten teachers and hundreds of students) has been using it for 24 hours. Very impressed so far. We will upgrade soon to unlock add'l features.

@@teachingeslonline yes,i can only output sound through soundflower virtual output (logic )and soundflower virtual input (zoom mic setting ).the result is kind of low quality amr file style, and mono channel.

@@pioppetopiopper3871 Zoom sends mono audio by default. So stereo sound will be collapsed unless both the broadcaster and receiver enable stereo sound in their settings. Also, there's another free alternative to Soundflower called Blackhole that's far more reliable.
