This video is EXACTLY what I was looking for in vacuuming. I picked up a few pointers watching this video. I have same pump/filter equipment as you so this video was very helpful to this first time pool owner. Thank you.
first summer with my 13,000 gallon pool and youve helped more than the pool store, ive kept the water clear without having the stench of chlorine, also thanks for your service or if youre still serving
Thanks for the tutorial. When I started watching this video I thought this guy sounds familiar. I checked your videos and I noticed I watched your pellet stove cleaning video to learn how to clean my harman. Very thorough helped tremendously. Have a great day.
I am a new above ground pool owner. Thank you very much, your video is very informative. I am a visual person so reading the manual and watching your video really helps me out.
Glad I could help thanks for watching. I recommend as soon as you can afford it buy a pool vac, they are awesome. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zP4ejWu1rRk.html
Great video, I have watched several of your videos since purchasing my first pool. Thanks for making them easy to follow for dummies like me. You have been a great help, as I knew nothing about pools. Your set up is SWEET!, so clean and neat. Great job on all your hard work. Thanks again for creating such great content!
That is what everyone that I know that has one says that they work awesome. Maybe one of these days I will get one. Do you have a round pool with steps? I wonder if the steps will mess it up?
Thank you for doing this. I just bought a house with a pool and I have been struggling to vacuum my pool and your video showed me that I do not have enough suction going on and now I know what to check.
I agree with the others who commented on what a great help this video is for a first time pool owner, thank you very much !!! - great video - simple and very informative
Of course with an underground pool the process is almost the same but the pump will not purge air by loosening the strainer as the pump is above water level. You do have a helper it seems!
your videos have been super helpful since we just installed an above ground 24'. we have the same liner, too, but different filter. You touch on all the small details!
The swivel end of the vacuum hose goes on the vacuum. And the moment you turn off the filter when done vacuuming, the skimmer plate will lift itself and the skimmer basket debris will start to get back into the water, so you gotta be fast, especially if you vacuumed up lots of large debris and leaves and stuff.
Hi how are you? The thing I like to do when I vacuum is leave the pump running, while the hose is still in the skimmer, pull the vacuum head out on the deck and 2 or 3 seconds after disconnect the hose from skimmer. That way pump will still be sucking water, and it will drain the hose. So when it’s running, quickly lift the pole and vacuum head with the hose attached on the deck and then listen for the air entering the hose and after 3 or more seconds pull it out from the skimmer. That’s the thing I’ve been doing for the part 5 years, you always get few bubbles in the pump but that’s ok. All right, have a great day ~Sven
@@DIYJIM yeah summer was great. Hope yours was too. For now we have above ground pool that we wanna replace so these days we will be draining the old and putting the new one. Rectangular this time haha. Gosh I’m so happy lol. Anyways, have a great time and rest of the summer and yes keep that pump running on high more often. When you vacuum, put chemicals or backwash.
This video was so helpful! I just got a 15feet above ground pool and was wondering how to use this. How often do you vacuum it? Your pool looks so clean!!
Good informative video. Thanks! Is there something you should do after you vacuum - like backwash or rinse? I have a 27' round and this is my first season caring for it. Also, do you recommend any particular way to test the water - kit, pool store, etc???
To disconnect I like to pull just the vacuum head out of the water while pump is running to get air, as I am ready to pull the vacuum plate over the skimmer, i am waiting and once pressure releases I pull the plate for the vacuum, as I do this I can pull out the basket and the debris doesn’t fall or float back into the pool and If u do it fast enough u won’t loose prime or pressure in pump and don’t have debris from the basket floating in pool, this is an easy way by urself and not losing prime or turning off pump. Then u can slowly take out ur vacuum hose the rest of the way Granted u need to empty ur pump basket w the pump off.
Thank you for a thorough explanation. I have a question I cannot seem to find answer. I have a sand filter but BO SKIMMER, so where do you put other end of hose? On A or C? Please help😎
I’m not sure if I understand what you have. Sorry. All pools have a suction and a discharge. The suction should be connected to the pump and the discharge should be connected to the filter. Hope this helps.
Dang it, I need to figure out why sand keeps coming theu the return while vacuuming and after back washing, I have 4 years on in ground cartridge and DE pools but no above ground or sand filter lol the struggle is real lol

I never owned an index pool sorry but, maybe if you join a couple aboveground pool groups on Facebook. I am sure someone can help you. Sorry I can not help
I don't have a skimmer in my Intex pool. I just have the vacuum lines that goes to the filter. Will it work that way? Do I have to block off the other vacuum side?
Not 100% sure what you mean. Water should not be coming out any hose. The water should be going through your filter and back into your pool, unless you are vacuuming to waste. Hope you get it figured out
I bought my steps from a pool store in Williamsport. There is a link in the description of this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZK8cMVQbO4g.html. Hope this helps
