Brewster Home Fashions hired our professional video production company to produce their first "How-to" video for their social media campaigns. You can't just indiscriminately start in the corner of the room. If you have a patterned wallpaper you have to choose the focal point of the room. Then lay out how the paper pattern is going to work. You need to start on the focal point of the room with your plumb line. When you hit corners you WILL go out of square. THIS IS A HOMEOWNER GIVING A HOW TO. Be prepared for some major issues if you follow this "guide". There are several problems with it.One- wallcovering expands when pasted.Pasting the wall instead of the paper will cause bubbles to form.It is important to allow several minutes to allow the paper to expand before hanging.Second- You need to start in the corner farthest away for where you enter as the seam will not show as much when you enter the room.Third-You will need a wallpaper table to paste and trim the wallcovering.Cutting the paper as shown in this video is not advised.

Vincent Jackowski as a professional i love these diy hanging videos by people that arent hangers. one fine your wet width. then engineer your room so if needed you make adjustments at beginning so you dont fall an inch from a door frame or corner. paste paper NOT wall unless its a dry hang wallcovering or fabrics.

Maybe slow down and understand what you’re watching before commenting. This video is by a company that sells “paste the wall” wallpaper. This means their wallpaper is MADE so that you PASTE THE WALL not the paper.

@@vq9683 I have been hanging wallcoverings for 45 years.The only time you paste the walls is when applying textiles which stain easily. I don't care what the manufacturer suggests.I even apply paste to prepasted wallcoverings even though the manufacturer suggests dipping them in water. By the way nowhere in this video or in the description do they say anything but unpasted paper.

When coming to the first corner, yes you can cut it off as you have done, but you should use the cut off piece as your next piece going around the corner, as its in the middle of the pattern, you cannot use a 'new strip' as you suggested as you will never get the pattern match. Of course you CAN use a new strip but why do that when you have cut off the perfectly matching piece? using a new piece would be more difficult and time consuming, and wasting paper. You should score the paper then lift away from the wall and cut with scissors, not use a Stanley knife. the paper is wet and tears easily.
