This is a demonstration on how we approach wrapping a wide mirror cap. Mirrors will vary is shapes. Film used is Vvivid Vinyl rose gold chrome. Check out our Instagram @ckwraps for an inside look at detailed pictures and videos.
I want to do a parabolic dish on a chloroplast backing (so its pretty flexible plastic, maybe it won't stick?) for solar cooking. Some guys in India found Vinyl wrap was the best material as the reflective material. It has to have "mirror like" reflection, so something like the material you used but more silvery like a mirror. Which of the wraps should I buy? About 15 sq ft is needed. Thanks Brian
Hi CK. Amazing channel, I'm using this channel to get all the tips. I have a question regarding lifeless tape. I bought some of eBay, it was Knifeless brand but it wasn't what I expected, I notice your using 3M. Is there any difference to it or pretty much the same? Thanks DC
+Drew Crowther it should be the same thing. 3m recently bought out the original owner and developer of knifless tape so all new rolls have been rebranded. You most likely have an older roll but it should still be the same
Thanks for that, it doesn't look quite as great quality as i would have expected from a 3m product. only practiced so far on surfaces and no wrap so will report back when i have used it. Thanks for the reply bud, i appreciate that!
Thanks for doing these Christian! I'm a beginner wanting to learn as much as possible before going to "official" training. Your videos are not only very instructional, but very inspiring in that--whenever I get stuck on a wrap--I watch one of your videos to remind me it can be done. Thanks again!
great.. i tried first up to wrap a motorcycle mirror with more contours. Now i understand why i could not do. I was not stretching enough and was too light on the wrap.
I'm on the vehicle wrapping business, always when a see a customer walking to the office, Cross my fingers, please don't as for anything wrapped on chrome, really difficult, but yes your technique is good..
Interesting Nice job And i was 'Just about to say "You could've cut that in half though..maybe"? haha I don't know?..I was looking for a cool 'Vinyl record' channel But I've learned something new though Niceone ; )
Is all vinyl wrap that tough or is it just the chrome colors? I have only bought chrome and gold and they seem stiff. I have an 80 Grand Prix with bullet style mirrors
I'm try this home but the vinyl maybe material to bad so i always fail. Can you give me information for what good material or merk for this vinyl. Thank's
I'm having trouble wrapping carbon fiber mirror caps ive tried vivid carbon fiber and wrap tech carbon fiber any recommendations on what steps to follow ?
Lol. All we get was a 'its a pain in the ass'.. and wasn't even frustration from this particular wrap. Isn't he ridiculous? With chrome no less and in less than 20mins? Lol. I layed flooring for a lot of yrs(mostly carpeting) so I have some knife skills.. a lot of cutting is your blade floated, especially commercial and we don't care about baseboards or walls as cove base hides it(residential always careful).. as much as anyone would care about car paint for obvious reasons. Lol.. Oops, shhh. I'm not even so much worried about cutting(most of car has a guide to follow anyway).. it's the proper install and durability. I'm psyching myself up, just making time really. Vinyl is expensive and I'm def not putting chinese no name on my car. I read a lot of comments to see what ppl are saying soaking in as much as I can. I should be okay. I'm pretty sure I just read a post or two of yours about you referencing vinyl and maybe you working in the industry for bunch of yrs? Wondering what kind of experience you have installing vinyl or any advice, maybe? Sorry for rant. Thx for your time. Apologies if you don't know anything about vinyl, but I def know I've seen you post. Peace, my man. Later. Christian, if you read this, not gonna bother complimenting you anymore. I'm done. 😂
