Legit what I needed to hear. 30 minutes before watching this video, I was thinking "but I don't think my life is exciting, I'm not traveling as much as other vloggers, or have fancy things to show." and then I watched this and I love you so much and I'm layered, my story's layered, and you, Sir, told me exactly what I needed to hear

I love how Pete inspires everyone. I just got back from work and I have an hour to go walk the dog. After this I decided to grab my camera with just the 85mm and take it along. Not to vlog, as I don't do that. But to maybe, just maybe create an image of some sort.

How is it that you never fail to inspire me

I watched this about a week ago and it inspired me to stop putting this off and make something happen. I was worried that even with 70k+ subscribers, no one would watch it or care. And guess what? They might still not! But I had fun making it and and glad to have it out in the world. The only way I'll get better at it is through practice. I know you're a crazy busy man, but I would be ecstatic if you spared a few minutes to check it out. Thanks for all you do Peter!

This gave me the drive to keep on creating. You can tell your story no matter where you are

I woke up this morning to snow on the ground and it made me grumpy and then watching you be all happy it's snowing and your b-roll made me want to head out and play in it.

I don't vlog, and I don't want to pretend to be an expert, even though i've dabbled in vlogging, but what I think CAN help is to think about the kind of filming that you're doing. All vlogs are "documentaries" all of them are documenting what you want to be documented. And those that shoot documentaries don't ever have a script when they first start shooting, but what they do have are questions. And they find the answers to that question while they're shooting and talking to people. Perhaps the best thing you can do is not find ideas, but ask questions: questions that are as simple as, "What am I doing today?" "Who's coming to my house today" "who can I hang out with and what can we do together" A lot of vlogs are "Let's go to this particular place to get this particular item" and they document the variety of tiny challenges along the way like traffic or low gas or whatever. Around the holidays it's "Let's go home and spend time with family and show gifts" and stuff like that. So to answer the question, "What do I shoot?" the answer is a question, "What are you doing today?" or "What questions can you answer"

Love the advice! Honestly just what I needed to hear. As a new creator sometimes you don't know what to do because you don't have the fanciest equipment or the money to go travel and make amazing vlogs and you have to make due with what you have, which can be demotivating but this little push and insight to literally "Just Do It" and vlog about anything and practice is so freaking true, so thank you!

Pete, I don’t know how this works but you hook us so well in your videos that it makes me think that you can make a vlog of you sitting at the test just editing and drinking coffee ☕️ for 10 minutes and we will watch all 10 minutes of it 😆😇

You're absolutely right on the flow of ideas starting when you start. I tend to over think since I'm new to vlogs, I'm teaching myself to just start and just go with it and see where the universe takes me when vlogging.

I love winter! We are expecting a small snowfall here in NJ but not gonna be like T.O. I miss T.O so much. What a beautiful message, create something even if you don't post. Some great ideas! I will definitely use them in my vlogging endeavors. I had my first vlogging excursion today, was not satisfied with the videos, and did not post them. I will go back out tomorrow and do better.

i've found your channel probably a year ago, i've kept learning and learning, only by watching videos, mostly from the dopesquad, i got my first camera on my 17th birthday this year in may, and yestarday i did my first paying job for photography. i wouldn't be here without you and your channel.

This resonates to me as an architecture student. i find myself sitting here some times thinking of what to draw or what to design and then end up doing nothing, rather than just doing ANYTHING and seeing where it takes you. once you start the ideas flow which allows you to change and adapt but if you never start in the first place you become stuck.

Hey Peter, I'm kind of in a situation. I wanna start vlogging, but in order to do that i'm wanting too upgrade from the camera I have right now. Which the camera I have right now is a Nikon Coolpix B500. I've been looking into different cameras now for a long time and I feel as if I have finally found the one. I'm looking into purchasing the Panasonic Lumix G7 and I've heard a lot of good things about it. But the only real opinion I feel as if I can trust on this subject is you. I'm only 15 and obviously don't have a lot of money considering I can't get a job yet. So I really don't want to make a big financial decision like this without being 100% confident that I'm getting the best. Please let me know if I'm making the right decision. Also I don't know the most about cameras and I'm wanting to learn more and I've heard this is a good beginners camera. Please send help. Btw ily and your videos they've been inspiring me since I started watching them a year ago and they continue to inspire me everyday. Thank you.

I've been rocking the 16-35 and 85mm combo as well, it's great! Except I just picked up a 28-75 for run and gun event/day shoots as changing between the two can get tiring lol. Great video brother!

The advice is on point. I started last year but most videos were uploaded in private. Just tried out and practiced. I even practiced editing and did daily vlogging in Instagram Stories until I had the confidence to upload longer content in RU-vid.🚵🏽‍♂️📷🇵🇭 BTW, the doggos got me hooked until the end🙂❤️
