I legitimately got home from camping today and only had one wash bucket. It messed with my head of how to efficiently clean and was astonished that it was a challenge for me. So thank you for this!

No problem! 😊 Yeah it’s kind of weird, haha it’s just one of those things that seems more tricky than it actually is. Once you do it a few times and get into a routine it becomes way easier to wrap your head around. 🤙🏽

Yeah haha pretty cool little trick for when you really have to be careful with water. 😊 You can also use one of those pressure sprayers for gardening too if you need a little more power, and you don’t mind traveling with it! 😂🤙🏽

Thanks! 👊🏽😊 We try to have a fairly balanced mix of videos. The problem is with camping, there is only so much you can do or say about it that hasn’t been done a million times before. 😂 And for some reason anytime we film our actual camping trips, (which we can only really afford to do on weekends as well, and also live near Los Angeles so the nice places to camp are usually very very very long drives away 🤦🏻‍♂️😂) people don’t seem as interested to watch as they are the educational content. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Lol it’s definitely not easy, but we are trying our best. ☺️ Feel free to let us know what you would enjoy specifically! Trip vlogs. Gear reviews. Whatever it may be. Always curious to hear what people are interested in. Thanks for the nice comment and thanks so much for watching we really appreciate it. ☺️🤙🏽

Hey thanks! 😃 Hmmm. Not sure if they will be as informative or entertaining as the kitchen bin is honestly, haha but we might be able to do a video on them. 🤔 Appreciate the idea! There are only so many things you can say or show about camping! 😂🤙🏽

Sooooo, I've never been camping. Trying to learn quickly as the family wants to go later this year. Why do you need to be 200 feet from a water source and why spray the water about? Thank you! The videos are fun!
@WhereWeWild
@WhereWeWild 3 месяца назад
Hey thanks glad you’re enjoying the videos 😊 Well the aim is to have the least amount of impact on the environment you are in, and the life that calls that environment home as you possibly can. It’s about being mindful that it’s not your home and that you need to treat it with respect. There is a saying most campers and outdoor enthusiasts know and live by called “Leave No Trace” and it is exactly what it sounds like. Simply leave no trace that you were ever there. Pretty simple. Never leave any garbage behind or anything that is not naturally there. This includes food and dirty water which can harm the environment, the soil, the water, the animals, and the plant life in it. Like say for example the fish in the river you are walking 200 feet away from, or maybe you dump some food waste on the ground from a dish you just washed and it has soap or chemicals on it and a small animal finds it and ingests the soap covered food. Stuff like that. And the reason why you want to spread out that grey water in that spray pattern is because it’s less impactful than dumping it all in one big puddle. Hope this answers your question, and hope you and your family have a great time camping! Just always remember… “Leave No Trace”. 🏕️😊🤙🏽

What about the pots and pans
@WhereWeWild
@WhereWeWild 3 месяца назад
Same deal really. 😊 Just scrape off as much as you can first and wash them. Might need to boil some hotter water if they’re really bad but not much difference. Also, if you do a little meal prepping at home, that will cut down the amount of pots, pans and dishes you will even have to wash! 🤙🏽

I wish you had mentioned that you are NEVER to wash your dishes at the sink by the restroom. Also, what you recommend saying to people who you find doing that. Dirty looks don’t seem to work. My wife doesn’t like what I say to them.
@WhereWeWild
@WhereWeWild 3 месяца назад
Would you mind explaining with a little more detail? Not exactly sure what you mean. Haha are you saying to never wash dishes at the sink IN the restroom? 🤔
@Citizen-pg8eu
@Citizen-pg8eu 3 месяца назад
@@WhereWeWild In many state parks here in California, when they have flush toilets, they have outdoor sinks (that is, by the restroom), for dumping your grey water. Too many people take their dishes there to wash them, often leaving gunk clogging the drain.
@WhereWeWild
@WhereWeWild 3 месяца назад
@@Citizen-pg8eu Ahhhhh yes. Thank you for clarifying. 👊🏽 Sorry, may have read your comment a little too quickly this morning! ☕️🥴😂 Well I can understand why people would do that being that they are usually a large deep kitchen style sink huh, and they probably just don’t have much experience and think oh here’s where you wash dishes! I get it. But I guess a good way to say something about that is to maybe just politely say… “Hey do you want to know a good trick we learned to make washing your dishes out here much easier? 🤗” Haha and then just show them how to first scrape off all their leftover food into the trash, and maybe even throw in a few tips about washing them back at their site. This way it’s not like you’re coming at them angry and they might actually respond well and appreciate the knowledge, and also they wont clog the drain! 😂 And then, you can say… we learned that trick from this AWESOME RU-vid channel called Where We Wild! You should check them out! 😎😂😉🤙🏽

Make sure that you use potable water to clean dishes. If washed in a stream, lake, pond, etc. the dishes need to be sanitized after rinsing with boiling water or bleach water.
