Lord and Lady Braybrooke are taking a trip to their London townhouse so it's a good opportunity for Mrs Crocombe to ensure her kitchen is in order. There's washing, cleaning and polishing to be done. Everything must be suitably prepared for when the family and staff return to Audley End House.

it's crazy how fast our image of cookware has changed. When i was a kid people couldnt give away their "old fashioned" copper and cast iron cookware because everyone wanted modern easy to clean teflon coated everything. I remembered once going to a garage sale and trying to get my dad to buy a box of cookware that included some copper gadgets like these, copper pans, and copper pots for like 40 or 50 bucks and he said "we dont need that old garbage". Growing up my Nonna had beautiful silver. I LOVED polishing silverware with her. I also really enjoyed taking out all of her crystal from China cabinet and polishing and washing the wine glasses, special platters and things. We would do it every few weeks. I loved hearing the stories behind all of the items she was so proud of.
