This is such a good video. Folks just do not understand how well this video is done. Its informative but not overloading. As a driveway enthusiast, it was nice to have this refresher on just how simple car cleaning can be. Thank you Phil. I genuinely appreciated this video.
How interesting. It's really the most basic and intuitive video for complete beginners because he didn't even talk about pressure washing, which a decent one costs a couple hundred bucks at the very least.
Thank you for putting this together. Perfect entry-level video for anyone to follow. I’m done with automatic car washes and falling in love with the process of taking care of my cars.
Thanks! I have a few others like that recently. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8t8SfNFGIVQ.htmlsi=PdkX9tMlg2HuabUh ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lJLW1rPknL8.htmlsi=s8o1U6KYFalt8ZSW
Nice job. Ive been watching all these videos using foam canons and pressure washers which are over kill and not necessary. I like to soap then rinse in sections rather then soaping the whole car. Soap dries up too quickly. Start with rinsing entire car then soap and rinse in sections from top to bottom. Yes I agree with doing wheels and tires first. I also keep rinsing over prior washed sections so car is not drying while washing other sections. No need for pressure washers for cars unless you own a car wash.
Thank You for this video. I was spending so much money to find out one thing didn’t fit the next thing we I actually had all I needed watching this one.
man, I just ran across this video and it is one that I am sending out to my customers that fit this category to a T. Awesome reality video. Thank you Phil
New subscriber here, I swear these clips never get old. For all the car detailing enthusiasts and ones whom are in love with there vehicles and passion to keep them gleaming, I truly appreciate all your priceless info and informative techniques. Especially myself whom is a weekend warrior/driveway professional lol
Thank you so much!! I just wanted to do a simple wash and wax to keep my car ok. And I am getting clay bars and everything else!!! Needed this nice simple tips and tricks vid
Great video so I have subscribed. I think you are so right to outline different approaches for different levels of interest and ability. In fact this is the first time I've seen an approach like this on You Tube. There's a scale from full on detailing to just using safe and effective techniques. Perfect for me who literally quakes at the idea of clay and machine polishing!
4th Way to roll with the others as a team 👌👌👌👍👍💪💪 Phil looking like a Hollywood star with the sunglasses 😉😎 One thing I would suggest is that before spraying with a pressure washer tip or with a foam cannon/lance is to pull the trigger first away from the vehicle because sometimes even when we think we have attached the tips well with the quick connection we may be surprised it wasn't done well😉🤦🏽♂️🤷🏾♂️
Hi Phil, great video & new subscriber. My current routine is 1 Hose rinse 2 Wash with ZipWax 3 Rinse 4 Apply TW Wax & Dry spray wax as drying aid & to prevent hard water spotting. Would immediately applying another spray wax such as TW Hard Shell spray wax be beneficial or would it smear?
Hi. Sounds a good process. You can certainly add another layer of protection like that if you want. Smearing can happen with pretty much any spray sealant product if over applied or in direct sun or heat and humidity. Just apply a light layer. If you do get smearing it’s ok, just use a damp towel to wipe the panel and then a dry one immediately after.
Such a great channel Phil. How would it benefit me to replace the Zipwax and Wax & Dry with the equivalent Turtle Wax Hybrid Ceramic wash and wax products? Is it just the length of time that the protection lasts?
I enjoy using Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions on all four of my cars. I practice with new products on my daily driver first. Thank you for the informative video.
Hi. Same way. The only difference with matte finishes is don’t polish them. They do have matte specific products, I have used them before, but they didn’t make much of a difference. You can apply waxes and sealants to matte finishes with no problem. Just no polishing.
Hey Phil. I watch your videos daily, including your reruns. I love your detail work and great advice. But I have a question to ask. Or maybe you can give me some sound advice. The issue that I don’t clean is my cars “Seat Belts”. Can you help me out?
Hi seat belts are the worst. I have tried so many ways of cleaning them and there is simply no way to get nasty seatbelts completely clean. Unfortunately if they are really bad you can try steaming them and using a strong cleaner on them but I have read before that if cleaned to aggressively it will compromise the safety fabric and that could be a major liability. I always tread carefully and don’t try to shoot for perfection on seatbelts.
@@MirandaDetailing Well with that said. Maybe I’ll just well enough alone. And continue to keep interior and exterior nice and shiny (detailed). Thanks for your feedback and awesome truthful wit. Tell the wife and Mindy 👋🏾
What about post wash ? With our tools as far as the towels just rinse and let dry or do we need to wash/dry (laundry) the used towels after every car wash ??
Hi. Tools I will rinse off like wheel brushes and interior brushes. Towels for interior I throw in a mesh bag and wash at the end of the week. Towels for drying and wax and polish removal I wash separately from the nasty interior towels.
Great videos. For anyone who wants to be a bitefficient at Home and extra cheap, this is what I do. I get a spray bottle and I fill it 1:10 with my fav soap and water. I than keep the hose in my hand. After I pre hose the car, or foam or whatever, i spray my mitt or pad with the solution, than wet it and clean a panel. Once clean I spray the panel down and than hose down my pad to clean it, I than squirt a couple of pumps and than repeat cleaning each panel, hose down and hose down the mitt. Than when done I flood the panels and dry with a drying aid. I find it cleans the pad better than a bucket of water. That's just me. If I want to take my time I do one bucket with multiple towels or Mitts. But that's more expensive
@@MirandaDetailing thank U for sharing your tips. Very much appreciated. I have learnt alot for your channel. I also use my way when I have a dusty car come to me to be cleaned that's not very dirty.
The Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Wash and Wax says, "This wash is not recommended for use in a foam cannon sprayer." Can it be used in the SwiftJet foam gun?
True but that doesn’t mean it can’t be done effectively. I have used it in a foam cannon just to ensure full coverage on a vehicle and it works great. It’s not a super thick foam, but it does speed up the process of washing. Give it a try.
Hello, In most of the Videos I watched about car detailing a pressure washer is in use. Do you think it is a must have to get a car scratch free washed?
Hi. Not at all. Pressure washers are used by pro Detailers because it’s fast and efficient, you can do a lot with one if used correctly. Using a garden hose is fine, it just takes longer in my opinion and uses more water.
Awesome video and tutorial Phil. Any issues using in foam cannon ,9oz of soap, full sun?ALWAYS love testing new products. B well and stay safe good friend. Give ur wife my best. Thanks again 4 everything u do.i know myself there is no words that can describe the gratitude 4 ALL ur help
Hey man. Well the soap does a great job and still seams to rinse away clean even if it dries a little. I this soap a lot for our actual details also. Great stuff!
I am not a professional but have been detailing my and friends cars for many years. There is just no way I can understand people thinking that their washing mitts get clean putting them back in the wash bucket with a grit guard. No way it gets clean!
Hi. That’s why our pre wash/APC rinse method is the most important part of the process. That’s what does the major cleaning. That way the foam and contact wash is not really picking up heavy grit or dirt at all. The mitt stays cleaner and it only takes a dunk and rinse in the bucket to flush it. There is no heavy dirt or grit in the mitt of rinse bucket at the end.
Phil, I really want to take care of my car myself as much as possible, but I live on Miami Beach where there are regulations against washing cars. We are not allowed to use water. However, I have always used Optimum No Rinse (ONR) in the parking garage in my parking space and it seems to always work fine. Periodically, I take it to a car wash just to get the car washed. I don't know if it makes any difference. Can you do a video that would help those of us in these conditions where we don't have the freedom to wash a car with water?
@@MirandaDetailing wow! That's a fast reply! The reason for the regulation is to prevent run off. Biscayne Bay in Miami is now considered to be a dead bay; most of the fish and wildlife in the bay have died. It's a very serious issue here. Even most large hotels have their own water purification systems underground even though we are at three feet above sea level. After writing my initial comment here, I found your video which I'm watching right now on waterless wash. The idea of waterless wash doesn't really appeal to me for my car. I prefer the old fashioned ways. I forgot to mention that I also live on the 12th floor of a condominium high rise building.
😁 oh ok. That's stinks! Well I was going to mention using a cordless pressure washer like this ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9DP1kzpYEl8.html or ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CcVmGJa3PXs.html But you still get a little run off. But it's only about 5 gallons. But that still may not work for you right?
@@MirandaDetailing Thank you, Phil! Yes, I think this could work out! Some public parking garages and lots do have proper drains where I've seen mobile car washers cleaning cars for car rental companies and for people parking in the garage. This is also reasonably priced cordless equipment. I'll give this a go, and if I get busted by security, I'll see if I can schmooze 'em into letting me do my own instead of using the mobile washers they allow.
Hey Carlos good video that’s all I use now THE SERRANO SAUCE good stuff n not expensive what do you got your psi at for your interior detailing gun at?
What is the best car wax to wax a whole white car? I saw on your RU-vid waxing little spots and I want to wax the whole car. I have a 2021 white Subaru Foresters.
Hi. so with many different waxes and sealants there are no best options, just different options. you can choice a liquid wax that you have to apply by hand or with a DA Polisher. Or a spray sealant is easier to apply. Which video did you watch where we waxed? Usually I just demonstrate how to apply waxes and sealants on certain sections of the vehicle...bascially just repeat that process over the entire vehicle.
Hello. If you use a car washing solution that says it has a wax in it as well, do you still use one of those post wax sprays like that one you spray on when the car is wet? Or do you not use a wax after washing if there’s wax in the wash? Thanks.
Can I ask your opinion on wheel cleaners that say not to pre rinse, like Meguires ultimate wheel cleaner. Wouldn’t you run the risk of scratching the wheels with debris when using the wheel brush if you don’t pre rinse off dirt and debris etc? I picked some up and as I thought about it I wondered about scratching the wheels up. Thanks.
Hi. We always rinse first to make sure to remove the majority of dirt and brake dust. I understand that they want the full power of the cleaner on them, but usually that’s not needed.
Exactly. I agree with you and think it safer to rinse first so as to get the heavy dirt off and reduce any damage or scratches on the wheel. Especially for black gloss wheels. 😎👍🏼
Hey how are you !! I just ordered the ar 630 hot Tt was wondering what short barrel handle is good for everyday use with that particular pressure washer with heat??
Hi. Awesome! You can use whatever nozzle/gun you want. You can get we this www.carsupplieswarehouse.com/products/mtm-sgs28-spray-gun-w-stainless-steel-qds-installed?_pos=5&_sid=ac924bd35&_ss=r Or this amzn.to/3UScVFR
@@MirandaDetailing I really appreciate your help bro love your channel ❤️ I presently work at a body shop doing all that kind of detailing from fresh paint on and my hands 🙌 are tired of all the sanding for just a days pay 💰 you give me the inspiration to be a better detailer I’m hands on can’t wait to use the extractor and pressure washer 👍🏻
Which state do you live in? I was going to ask you if we can meet because sometimes online tutorials won’t replace in person demonstration. You can ask questions anytime you see a professional and don’t have to panic not getting replies.
Hi. In Chesterfield Virginia. I do have official Details Training through my Detailing Workshop. Feel free to email for more info. Mirandadetailing@gmail.com
I want to learn how to do it at home with your in person demonstration. I’m not looking to open up an auto detailing business or anything. How will your detailing workshop help?
@akofsum5425 I see. Well the Detailing Workshop is my official detail training. It’s a one on one training. Basically I have a person spend the day at our shop and we go over anything the person wants to learn, of course within reason, obviously I don’t teach things I don’t know. It’s usually polishing and ceramic coatings that people want to learn, or proper washing and decontamination methods. I have to charge for this because it’s part of our business. Email me if you’re interested.
