Welcome to the Meguiar's RU-vid Channel.
Patrick, our resident videographer and photographer has been with us 5 months now and has NO IDEA how to take care of his car.
Many people like Patrick can sometimes get lost in the sea of car care products. What do I wash my car with? How can I keep it clean after I've washed it? It's the simple things that we want to help and educate you on.
So, introducing "Detailing 101". A step by step guide on the basics of car care, featuring Patrick and his BMW E36. During this series you'll see us educate Patrick on the most simple ways to Wash, Clean & Prep, Polish, Protection and Maintain his car.
Our aim is to share with you the simplest forms of car care, whether you're a non car guy, a car enthusiast, or someone that just wants to further their knowledge about detailing or the Meguiar's product range.
After all his hard work Patch wanted to understand the best way to clean his car with the most efficient method of washing. In this video Dale shows us the "How To" of the two bucket method, as well as tyre protection and glass cleaning.

Great videos guys, and even as someone who has been doing this a while, its always useful to get some reminders and use the products properly. The only thing I have noticed since using the Ceramic wax is on further washes the suds are killed by it?. Even with a nice bucket of suds, it seems to go to nothing, but I guess thats the ceramic doing its stuff. Top products though 👍

Instead of this two bucket wash, with one bucket that has soap, water w/grit guard and other bucket w/rinse water and a grit guard. You can use two buckets and no grit guards🤔. One bucket with soap and water and one empty bucket🤔, but use 4-5 wash mitts on separate panels🤔 this way there is never a contamination problem, ever! Used mitts go into the empty bucket to be rinsed and combed out after done. Toss those grit guards away, because they don’t work(proof is in the bottom of the wash bucket, so much dirt that was floating around finally settled) Invest in extra wash mitts, they are not that expensive anyway! Plus you save on 5 gallons of wasted rinse water, and you can also cover your wash soap water bucket and save on soap to reuse on the next car, especially if your a mobile detailer and wash multiple vehicles daily, because there is no contamination in the bucket!

Will the multi purpose cleaner remove wax? I brought some mpc the other week its good but I haven’t used it in that way yet.

For people haven't got the endurance tyre gel, it's really good stuff and you don't even have to use much. Just work it into the tyre to get no sling at all. I Need to buy that shampoo as it will hopefully help preserve the wax on the car. It's just confusing which shampoo I should get from megs as they have got a few

Hello sir. I allready have ulitimate wax protection on the car. And i want to add a boost to the wax using ultimate quick wax. Is it best to dry to car first or wipe it off with the water magnet?

Where do you guys stand regarding the hype around snow cannons? Is it something you would recommend, Is it something you would not use once you’ve done all your detailing and got all your waxes on etc, would you recommend just sticking with the jet wash and bucket method? Etc ???

I have Gloss Black Alloys. When I use the Meguiars Ultimate All Wheel Cleaner like shown in this video, how comes after I have jet washed it off I wipe my finger over a bit and still find dirt on the wheels? What am I doing wrong?

I use a 3 bucket method, the other one is for wheels. I’ve identified which bucket is which by putting a strip of different coloured electrical tape round the lip of each bucket.

Hi I'm new to all this so it's been a good couple of weeks since I've cleaned, polished,waxed the car. So if I clean as done on the video and try it should have the waxed protection from before right? I done have the spray wax yet? Or do I polish and wax again? Cheers

You can absolutely follow the method in this video. You wouldn't need to polish the car again if you've only just done a few weeks ago. Maybe use something like the 3 in 1 Wax after washing to boost the gloss and protection.

Hi, drying the car, I do your fold of the towel, but do you dry from top to bottom or does it not matter ??? 😎

It's good practice to do so while washing but for drying its not essential.

So after watching this I went and bought this wash and wax soap, and on the front of mine it says in big bold letters it says CAUTION/ ATTENTION IRRITANT and on the back it says do not get on skin… how do you hand wash a vehicle with soap that you can’t get on your skin?

Absolutely! spray on and rinse off as it's already waxed!

If you wanted to add to the protection you could spray the quik wax on whilst the car is still wet then dry as normal.

@@bestluck6453 You can use either shampoo. Gold class won't leave a wax protection.

Are they a vinyl wrap? If they are then you can use Step one Paint Cleaner or Ultimate Compound to revive them.

@@michaelhunter636 The key thing to ascertain is if there is a layer of dust on the car under the hybrid wax then the wax needs to taken off, the car washed throughly and re applied.

Makes sense to me, just ensuring that the paint is completely decontaminated before applying the wax. Im not knocking the hybrid wax at all, excellent product and ive seen a fair few other people have amazing results i just didnt fully understand where i went wrong

Sergiu T. It would remove for sure. But with Hybrid Ceramic is so quick to rewax, so it isn’t a big deal.

what if you wash your car with boiling hot water from the kettle will this cause swirl marks or is it recomneded to use cold water ?

The water won't cause the swirl marks no. We suggest either cold or warm water, if it was boiling you'd have to wait for it to cool down before putting your hand in it. Swirl marks are caused by various events. There's not one specific thing that causes them but generally overtime with continuous washing they will form.

@@meguiarsuk Great thanks for the information apreciate your help. i only trust and use meguiars products ive done ultimate compound polish and wax with a DAP machine and results were fantastic . how about washing a car in direct sunlight ive heard that causes swirl marks is that true they say wash it in the evening time or when the sun goes down but not sure .

interesting is there any reason why you would use warm water won't that harm the car more than using cold water and just labelling the buckets?

no it's just so if you don't have any labels you know which one is the rinse bucket and which ones the soapy solution one.

I've watched several of your videos and they are good & informative, but please improve the sound quality. Your mics sound to me like they are overloading the preamp stage of your cameras or transmitter. Also, the overdubbed music tracks are distorted and this too seems to be an overloading issue.
