Awesome video! im 5 days Post OP and now gonna start working out my scabs after 6th day. been gently applying baby shampoo on my reciepient area since D3. Thanks a lot for the video! may the hair live long!
Had my procedure this week on tuesday,in Istanbul. So far all going like clockwork, the big issue is sleeping upright,it really is a killer.Thought washing my head by myself was going to be night,so far not a problem.Scab removal is probably, the next big hurdle, been out and about, feeling confident
I’m removing scabs tomorrow! I’m excited and nervous because I don’t want to mess it up. Was there a wait time between foam and shampoo as well? Did you wait a few minutes after putting foam on your head or did you immediately start the rubbing in a circular motion? Did you apply pressure to your scalp during the scab removal (as you did with your donor area on previous days)?
@@kailars it did! I learned that for the tougher scabs you just need to leave the foam on longer (45 minutes to an hour) it made it easier to get them off. I had to put the foam and the shampoo on several times for all scabs to be gone
Hi and Thank you for sharing, it looks like good work! When did you start shredding and how long did it take for the shredding to stop and when did you start seeing mini progress? When where you able to cut your hair, both transplanted and donor area? Thank you.
shedding starts about 3-4 weeks after your transplant, and it can take up to 2 months. I started seeing progress after the 2nd month but it was very slow. And eventually after the 3rd month it picked up! I started getting a hair cut after the 3rd month, but you can start after the first month usually
Hey there love your videos. I am now on day 7 for washing, however I always get worried when I come out of the shower after applying my foam (which in 30mins dissolves) and shampoo by lightly tapping. It always appears really white on my head despite the rinsing on the head with lukewarm water, is this normal? It does get darker as I dry off but just wanted to know your insight and it does feel very crusty on my donor area, some fall off and look white and dark, is that also normal? Thanks!
dont worry! that is normal. the white spots happened to me as well plenty of times. I used to get worried about it but its basically the residue of your lotion that you've applied. Because we are lightly tapping it and not scrubbing it off, it natrually will stay on your head for a bit. But its nothing to worry about, the more u wash your head every day, the more it will eventually subside. Once you start using your shampoo regularily it will be fine after. But yes it does feel crusty after, thats mainly becayse scabs are forming. Once you hit the 11/12 day mark, you're able to rub a little more to take out your scabs. After that it'll feel much better. hang in there!
Hi, Thanks for all the useful info. I got my HT done this week and I am into my 5th day today. Last night I had lots of discomfort in the donor area. It was more like burning accompanied by itching. Not many people have shed light on this. Could you please help with this ?
no worries glad i could help! The donor area after will uncomfortable, but mainly because you just had a huge tramatic surgery. It is completely normal to feel this discomfort, and burning and itching. In the next few weeks it will reduce and by the 1st month mark you will feel much better. hang in there!
From Day 5 my donor area also started hurting a lot, by day 7 needed two paracetamol a day to cope as was still sleeping on the back with the neck pillow and elevated head so donor area kept touching the pillow and paining. Took over a week to suside. Sensations fully came back only over 6 weeks later! They had injected me with more than the average I guess, due to my higher graft numbers. So don't worry guys. My biggest problem was my scabs were strongly and totally fixed despite frequent saline and daily long lotion wetting. Took days to come off because I was extra careful touching the area. My clinic had told me to massage to the front, just as hair grows, not circular as in this video. All ideas seems fine as long as one takes time and is gentle.
Hello, i saw in one of your videos that you were wearing something on your head during your flight like black bandana, what was that? Are yoi allowed to wear something 2 days after the procedure?
Were you taking any meds after your procedure? Also when does the bleeding stop. I did my procedure yesterday and I’m going in right now to finish up the rest. 2000 grafts yesterday and 2500 today.
i was! i was on painkillers for the first 2 weeks and swelling medication provided by the doctor. After that i took finasteride consistently. The bleeding stops after you finish your surgery as the clinics ensure its all done by the end of it. Best of luck on your procedure!
I am swollen in my face after my procedures - ended up in the emergency room because I could not stop throwing up after my second procedure- needed IV fluids and oxygen- how long do you recommend to use finasteride ?
is applying too much pressure when washing your grafts going to harm the newly transplanted grafts or more-so pro-long the healing process. for reference its been 5 days post-op.
i'd still go gentle on the 5th day up to about the 11th or 12th day. Once the scabs are out, then i'd apply a little more pressure, but still try to be gentle overall. After 2-3 weeks is a more safer bet to go apply a bit more and gradually till it feels normal
Great Videos I really appreciate all your efforts for making them. I have one important question. The first time they washed my hair they pulled those bandages so hard from my donor area that I almost felt like they ripped all my skin off and my donor area is still hurting from that and blended a lot more. I think they should of waited for the bandages to loosen up.
those bandages i remember were quite painful to take off. But it has to come off or else it will remain sticking to your donor area. hopefully it isnt too bad for you now but it will feel better in a few days!
I'm curious as to why everyone rushes to jump on plane on day 2 after surgery. Did you not consider asking the clinic for an extension of the hotel 3/4 days after surgery and paying the difference. ?
Very insightful and knowing this makes me feel at ease. Some clinics provide Saline Spray and/or Panthenol Foam., are these neccesary? Apart from the Antibiotics and paint killers that the clinic provides, what else did you use?
they gave us a swelling medication along with the antibiotics and pain killers! that was about it but it was all very effective in the recovery process!
Saline spray is great, natural antibiotic against infections. Also the salt halps detach the crust so by day 10 should be a lot easier. Many clinics have stopped giving antibiotic creams and give saline spray and penthanol/allantoin repair creams.
hi,it's my 7th day after hair transplant and even after following all the instructions and caring for it,i see some hair coming out of the recipent area, has my transplant failed or smthng?
Dear Amit , Another excellent video of yours. I'm on 6th day of my transplant , and following all procedures . But little concerned that clinic provided "Evocapil - Panthenol foam " might run out before i hit the 11th day mark even though using it as required only . I Stay in states so not able to find the same or Bepanthol ( you showed ) . Would you please suggest an alternative ? Really helpful if you can suggest !
you can use any type of moisturizer to be honest, as long as it helps with dry skin. Also im surprised yours is almost done! i still had half a bottle left for myself by the 11th day lol!
Regarding the swelling, i have been having the same feeling of being swollen both on the doner area as well as recepient. It feels like I have been wearing a tight hat. I never got swelling on my face. When do I expect it to start getting better you think ?
@@amitposthair Sorry to ask you but huw much did you pay 9 month ago? Did you pay transfers and hotel including in that price? Did you get FUE or DHI metod for transplant? Which clinic was it? Please answer those 3 questions.I will be in Turkey in 6 weeks time
So you got clinic wash post op day 1 and then after that you started moisturizing and washing BOTH the donor and recipient sites daily? Did you loose grafts when you rinsed and washed? I realize you were gentle and didn’t rub the scabs during the first few weeks but still, I’m so nervous to wash….
washing your head after a hair transplant is always nerve wrecking, but dont worry. I actually made a full video on how to do so, and it shoudl should u about the moisterizing and washing there: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tjSzs3sBL_M.html As for losing grafts, they are usually secure after the 5th day, so i dont think I lost any. If i did, it wasnt that many!
@@amitposthair thank you that video is the best I felt so much more confident and didn’t lose any grafts. Your channel is better than my post op instructions and I am so thankful for what sleep I have been able to get and the showering info I gleaned from your work. All the best!
numbness lasts for at least 2-3 weeks. It's not intense, but you can feel a bit of it from the after effects of the anastesia as it would not have completed gone away. but after that you're fine!
I’m on day 7 and my numbness is at full force. I feel like my head is about to explode. The clinic claims it gets better after 10-14 days. Is that true??
still not advised as it sits on the scalp so best not to ddo that! They recommended not to wear anything after but said if i had to a bucket hat would suffice
Thanks, that was really useful. One question, I got my hair transplant 9 days ago and on the very next day of my hair transplant, I went out of the hotel and since it was a sunny day, I placed my cap lightly on my head to prevent sunlight. Would that have been an issue and affected my grafts?
as long as the hat isnt pressing against the grafts you should be good. The clincs say that after 5 days the grafts are already planted in to your head but i would still take precaution and try to avoid anything touching them for at least 2-3 weeks
Went to Dr Serkan Aygin clinic and was given a hat the next day after my hair wash. They said it was ok to wear it right away. You however place it from back to front and let it sit there. You shouldnt slide it down.
it will take a few washes for sure. not all will be removed on the first wash. mine took about 3 days to finally get everything off! But just make sure they are all off eventually as the scabs can prevent the transplanted hair from growing out
usually the hair folliciles are locked in by the 11th/12th day when you need to remove your scabs. So they wont exactly be "stuck" as the root would be implanted into your scalp by then
I was told not to touch the headband, which turned out to be a huge problem. By the time I flew back home the headband had fused to the donor area. Seriously uncomfortable to get that removed when it was stuck to the raw skin.
honestly within 2 weeks it started looking normal.. but then the shedding came... which made it look not so normal after haha. but around hte 3 month mark is where you get a more shaved head look
@@juzs6893 are you referring to the donor area? that will also take some time to properly heal. But also overall everything will. maybe those people had a quicker looking-back-to-normal phase haha. but for me it took a while. you can see the progression from my older videos!
Thanks for your videos. The clinic I went to never gave clear instructions on shampooing my hair. So .y question is, do I still continue to wash my head with the shampoo that I purchased from them during the shedding g phase? A d in-between when it all falls out.?
Thanks for watching the videos glad I could help in any way! I switched over to another shampoo I bought from the clinic I went to after the first 12 days (once the scabs were off). You could continue using the initial shampoo but that one is mostly for a dry scalp as the first 2 weeks your head will be dry so its most effective. But after that switching to something like baby shampoo or biotin shampoo is fine too. I use the revita hair density shampoo now and that's something I'd recommend as well!
i did not actually! i just wore the headband they gave me. You should avoid wearing any type of hat immediately after your surgery to not damage the grafts. Usually you can wear them after a few weeks
@@amitposthair Do you need to wear the headband after a couple of days, does it do anything ? I wasn't planning on wearing anything on my head either. Also I am going to Vera also would you recommend the oxycure bit ?
I think every clinic is different, I wore a light given to me by the clinic immediately after they had given me the first wash. instructions were to slowly place it on the head from the back and let it sit there.
yes! you can use the revita hair density shampoo. Use code "PHTT" for a 20% discount! dslaboratories.com/products/revita-extra-strength-hair-density-shampoo?afmc=iu&
@@amitposthair did you wash your hair twice a day or once, and how long for before scabs came off ? And did your head feel hard. ? Like a 🦔 hedgehog on top first 10 days . Like mine is feeling at moment its 5 days now is that normal ?
Hello Sir. I went to the same place you went (veraclinic). This is my 12th day. I need your help. How do you use gf hair care complex with Derma Stamp and Haare Spray? Pls!
You can wear a loose soft baseball hat after a week. The graphs are strong enough. That's all bull. I starting training after 10 days. Had great results. The graphs at 7 days would have to be picked out to come out.
Hj there, thanks for your videos. What can I use to wash scabs off. I purchased their 6 month kit with the shampoo vitamins, etc. The problem is that it won't get delivered until the new year. I'll be going on day ten tomorrow
Today is day 11 after the surgery. My problem is when I touch the area of hair that was transplanted is hard, and I can't feel like other areas when I touch it.
it happens! This is due to the anesthsia still in your head left over from your surgery. Over time all the feelings will come back, just have to be patient. Took me roughly over a month to get the full sensaations back.
I'm going tomorrow to Instanbul. I fully watched at least 7 of your videos, I hope that I get some sleep tonight cause I'm a bit nervous (I've got other surgeries in the past for other stuff, but I've to be honest...this one... make me nervous) 😅
I dont think its much to be concerned about as that is mostly from the scabs that have formed. Your grafts will start to fall out after this as you will experience "shock loss". Dont worry, it's normal. But just make sure you're not scratching your head after because it will start to get itchy as well
@@amitposthair Yea I guess so :D The initial anesthesia injections, I could do that every day haha. Little pinch. My donor was swollen next day, but after that day, my whole head was normal. No blood whatsoever too. But, there was something different. The transplantation took extra 2 hrs. They told me in the process that my skin is hard and the grafts keep popping out so they had to really work then in and it took that extra time.
not really! most of the scabs were just dry skin. There were small amounts of hair that fall out with it, but that is also due to some shock loss (which is normal). Those hairs are cemented in after the first 5 days of your transplant so anything that comes out are just the tips of the transplanted hair, but the roots take 3-4 months after to grow out.
I committed a huge mistake after my FUE in July 2021, I did not take all the scabs out. Clinic did not have post op services and I was too afraid to push hard during shampoo. For 3-4 months, I had 20% scabs. I’m at 9 month mark now and the front area looks awesome wherein I reached and removed scabs effectively, however middle area is only 20% denser due to very late scab removal. Hoping the sprouting is simply delayed at this area and will see those hair back again. Any experience with late scab removal and it’s impact on transplant anyone??
@@johny5400 yes, but the good news is that it did not adversely impact. I’m about an year down and can confidently say it worked. Dang! I had my f doubts and I was freaking out coz I got it done in the states for decent amount. Well it was worth!!
you are able to! but honestly, you'll see SO many others just like you (that has done a hair transplant), so you dont feel embarrased at all! You actually feel more accepted XD
Don’t wear a hat it can pull out the grafts with the fibres in the cotton. Don’t worry you won’t be the only one at the airport with a bloody scalp. They are used to it
Getting mines in 2 weeks I haven't told anyone but I don't want to I am on vacation for a month and will just wear a hat for 4 months hopefully no one bothers me but they will lol
I just had mine down around 24 hours ago, I was told to use saline spray, and not wash my hair. So I'm waiting for them to call me they said 48 hours to wash my hair. Like you didn't shower.
thats awesome congrats on getting it done! I think they applied a saline spray on my after my procedure but I was not told to use that after. I was just told to use the moisturizer and shampoo. I did shower but very lightly applied water to my scalp during this time
I started wearing actual hats after a month to be on the safer side. But I believe after 2 weeks your healing should be completed and you're able to wear non-tight fitting hats
first wash was done by the clinic at the clinic on the second day. after that you wash it on your own everyday! same goes for the massaging part on your head
