This is basically general bengali style of Dhoti wearing when we are going for work but for any special occasion we use a different style where we do not tag kochas and prefer to keep it in our hands called Myur - Pankhi style ( Mahanayak Uttam Kumar use to wear like that ), and that is the old classical style which revealed the grace and beauty of Bengali Dhoti.

Hi Mr. Bose I am supposed to go for a bengali wedding on 24th November. Although I religiously wear Western, this time I wanted to wear Indian. I wasn't really sure about wearing a Dhoti because I don't know how to drape one. Now after watching this video and other videos, I have finally decided to wear a dhoti. Thanks a ton ! I’m not a pujari but I also wear dhoti when I go to the temple or do puja… (I end up looking like a pujari anyway because I don’t wear a Kurta/Sherwani)

Bose Ji... i have one suggestion... Before draping dhothi, its better use a warm iron press to keep the pleats equal size n crispy ... and fix with gem clips n at the time of draping, remove clips 👍
why is this called Bangali style … we in Mithila part wear the same way during all occasions , from upanayan to pind dan😅 including every pooja and sanskars.
I’ve often wanted to be a man just so I could wear a dhoti 😅 Yeh true, we do have dhoti style pants for women but it’s not the same as this piece of perfection 🔥
