This isn’t really Traditional. Traditional would be the 10ftish long length of wool plaid pleated up and folded over a belt then put on. Must be put on lying on the floor/ground. Just saying.
My last name is German Jew, so I figured that was my heraldry lay. I took the DNA test and found to my surprise I’m 32% Scottish. 30% British, 22% Ashkenazi Jew and about 10% Eastern Germanic. Top of the knee or middle is good for men, women with a kilted skirt generally a bit above the knee or a bit lower than the knee is best for a feminine look

Kilts are a statement! My dad dressed me in a kilt for the first time when I was 8 years old to attend a family event on the Isle of Man. I have enjoyed wearing them ever since and quite often wear full dress kilt for black-tie events instead of my tux. I have also wear it casually at times just for the hell of it. Cheers guys!

I bought mine two days ago. I enjoy wearing it much more than traditional pants. I got a few looks on me while buying groceries. But I have metalhead clothing in general. Looks really great with that.
Believe it or not, I actually liked this segment. Although, I liked the traditional wear the best. There is something about traditional dress that is still important and the look it gives. Thank you for posting this segment. Keep it going.
I much prefer the much more useful and less formal Great Kilt. Mine is 8 yards of tartan. I have two different weight great kilts. One for Spring and Summer. One for Fall and Winter. Actually i have 4 of them 2 of each weight material. I do not wear them without my knitted wool "shorts." because I need the support.
i was hoping they would wear a great kilt here. showing how they fold it and the different variations of wearing it. i think this traditional piece of clothing is so interesting and beautiful (and it can be used as a blanket at the same time)... can women wear kilt too? or is it only for men?

very nice guys...you both looked very handsome in full dress, although I like so many others prefer the "cheeky" look...XD I did a variation on the Green Lantern costume for a convention...but it was Celtic not Scot, I wore a black kilt with a green lantern tee shirt and I made my own sporran and I even made a shillelagh with a glowing orb that I used to charge my ring in place of the traditional Green Lantern power battery.

You can purchase all online and they will explain how to measure yourself for a kilt! Or you can go to a specific kilt maker. Where are you in the world??

I was invited to my friend’s wedding in Scotland this September!! My question is do I have to wear a kilt? If I do what’s the proper way to sport one for a guest from America, my mate mention I can wear whatever I would like! I just want make sure I’m not disrespecting anyone when I show up for the big day!
You don’t have to wear a kilt if you dont want to. If you go into a kilt hire shop they will be able to help you pick out a neutral tartan and take you through the variations 😃👍🏻

Good video and I liked the information :) I have always known that I was born in the wrong country (I think I am the only Belgian who enthusiastically runs to the music when I hear bagpipes), but this is so cool! Your accent is also so ... fun! I have no idea why I hear from English speaking people that you are so hard to understand ?! Maybe because it sounds like a dutch speaking person who’s trying some English (I’m from the dutch speaking part of Belgium) :)
