I like it that you don't feel the need to bronze or contour for every makeup look.. You use makeup as something for skin.. Instead of using your skin for something to put all the possible makeup on.. You're really inspiring.
What I like so much about Lisa is how she is never shy to do a bold lip or a bold eyeshadow full on and yet at the same time she always manages to make it look classy and not exaggerated. She always finds the perfect balance.
I really like the fact that you don't smother your skin in foundation. You use makeup to accentuate, not to falsify or create something that's not there. We need more beauty gurus like you!!
I did a wedding last week where the bride and bridesmaids wanted burgundy lips, and this video was of enormous help to me! Especially sine they were all very fair complexions. Thank you again Lisa!
I love how you teach to pull the whole look together. Watching you is like looking on as an artist starts a portrait. The importance of preparing the canvas and build to the focal point. I think that looking at a well made up face is like looking at a lovely painting. :) Thanks for this!
Wow your videos are so timeless, so elegant and sophisticated, this is a video from 2010 and I'm binging your videos in 2017 and this applies to any year. Thank you, 😊😊 you teach techniques and not trends.
I have to admit, I was in a bookstore when I saw a lady wearing the most gorgeous red lipstick and I can't take my eyes off. It was like "omagash, how could she pull that awesome color! WITCHCRAFT!" I'm fully aware I might look like a creep at that time, but yes, I believe people are looking because it looks gorgeous :)
Your nails are always flawless which makes all the difference. So many MUAs have terrible nails and it looks so bad. Not a look for me as it does not suit my pale skin and thin lips but mostly because I do not like this look as find it too severe.
If your lips are on the thin side, there is a subtle white line outside of your natural lipline, you can fill this in with the lipstick which will make them look fuller and use concealer above your cupids bow. A slighter darker shade just on the corners of your lips will also give you a fuller looking lip and should get rid of the 'mean' look :)
Gorgeous looks! I have always loved the darker lips, especially now in the fall and winter seasons... Just purchased Clinique's Black Honey and it has quickly become my favorite!
I am having a rainy day relaxation by re-watching your videos :) What I really love about your looks is that they're so chic. If something would say parisienne chic, that's what this is to me. Love the 'me but better' looks. (I love other looks as well but these make me feel the most beautiful) :)
this video gave me alot of tips, I love all the little details that make the end result so much better. Will keep this in mind next time I try to rock a dark lipstick on my pale skin
this is my favorite look and tutorial from you. i like how you apply make up and how your idea of chic is just the enhansement of our features, not loading on unnecessary products. I really like you! keep up the really good work Miss!👏🖒
Hello,My name is Lacey,Iam a canadian Viewer. I'm sure you get many messages such as this, but I just had to write you. I've been doing my friends and families make up since 2006 when I was 17. The same year I opened my first RU-vid account. I didn't realize until finding lollipop26, who has since stopped making videos, that there was a beauty community. In 08' I started filming, but my nerves got the best of me so to speak. Lol,so instead I was an avid watcher of beauty videos. I now have a new account(this one) and have been seriously considering making videos. I just wanted to thank you. You're videos are always so well thought out, consistent, down to earth yet entirely professional. It's amazing balancing act. Congrats on all of your success, and I look forward to more videos:)
I am SO glad I found your channel again! I think a while ago I found you and didn't really like you for some odd reason (Maybe because you speak more than other gurus?) but now I've found you again and I am in LOVE with your videos and I love that you're so informative!
Love this! I absolutely love dark lipstick colors, I feel they can make you look polished and made-up instantly. I absolutely adore plums and berry tones. And what you say about redness and pale skin is so true! I've always been afraid of reds; with my fair complexion and pinky patches of skin, I could end up looking like I ate a chili burrito in the dark and didn't have a napkin. It does look messy if you're not careful with color and application. Thanks for the tutorial! ;)
Lisa, I hate watching any video over 10 minutes, but frankly, I dont care if your video is 30 minutes long...I can still watch it and go away much smarter than when I started :)
I love your videos, they are always on point and I personally LOVE the fact that you take the time to describe and explain products. I am now able to use one lipstick in its full capacity! Thank you so much and much love, kisses and blessings from Texas
@katherynxx poor you darling..Rosacia is so difficult to deal with. Have you seen the new Vichy with dermablend sticks and liquid foundations? They are great. Very good coverage. I use them on a celebrity who has a similar problem x
I think its unnatural how excited i get every time you post a video up:-) Needless to say I love this look. Just a quick question. If i can't find the right blush to use, and use the lipstick instead, would that be alright, or would that create too much of a monochromatic look?
Lisa I really like everything about you not only your video, your personality the way you talk so kind and help everyone with their questions, I am totally in love with you not in bad way just as good person I love you. thanks for this nice video.
I'm so glad to have found this video because recently I got the urge to get a little bit more into dark red lipsticks but at the same time I tried to avoid them as well because they do take some confidence to wear out, so - thank you for this! But I have a question as well and maybe you can help me with it. I'm currently on the hunt for a dark red lipstick but on that doesn't have pink or purple undertones, just a really deep, rich red colour. Do you maybe know a shade like that? Thank you ♥
Could you do a video on the new Smashbox color correctors? I've been hearing a lot about them, but I'm not sure if they're actually that great. I really really value your opinion so that would be great! Thank you Lisa! You truly are an inspiration for us aspiring makeup artists!
I love dark, wine toned lipsticks but I have always struggled to find the right tone for me! Anything I try my mum is like it's too dark. I am a medium olive skintype with yellow undertones. So I will have to give these a try. Thank you.
Any tips on the best way to deep clean your brushes and sponges? I know that it is off topic but I keep forgetting to ask on the correct thread..also I used to love wearing these colors in my 20's and early 30's but I run from them now..However,watching this has given me a new outlook and I think I will give them a try again now that I am in my early 50's..
I have medium olive skinned and I can pull off any lip color. From medium colored lipsticks to really dark. I do agree that they make you look really sophisticated (I am a preteen and look 16-18 with a dark lip) I obviously can't pull off really light baby colors. But dark lips are no problem for me and I don't need to go through all the steps that you did.
Great video as always. I have the Dior lipstick and Clinique pencil which I love and I just bought the YSL one. Thanks for all the recommendations. It's good to know where to even start shopping.
I'm pale too and have lips on the big side, I wore a red the other day (I usually don't wear anything on my lips) and my class said it looks nice and gave me compliments! doesn't hurt to try I suppose :)
Hello ! Would you still recommend the Liérac Diopticernes? I have very bad dark circles and since I'm French, it would be really easy to get my hands on this product ... :)
Thanks !!! Great video with so many advices, that's so nice. I'm really impressed by the Lierac eye concealer (and your pronounciation is good), I'll try to find it out. The way it turns out, it's fantastic ! Tiffany, from France
Hello Lisa! I love your videos and watching your techniques. It's like watching art in motion. I even received your book as a Christmas gift and as a lover of history I find it fascinating, not only for the aesthetics but also for the background of makeup. Anyway, I tried to get the YSL Belle de Rose lipstick recently but have been told it's discontinued. Is there a similar lip colour to it you could recommend please? The colour is gorgeous! Hope life is treating you well.
Thank you for another great video Lisa! I am very pale and suffer from bluey coloured veins around my eyes making it look like I have terrible dark circles, I have tried just about every concealer out there without much success so will definitely be trying this Lierac one. Just a quick question though...i've had a look online and there doesn't seem to be different shades, is it just one shade? Thank you x
How do you exfoliate and keep your lips moisturized? Or what would be your best advice and/or products you use? I always have trouble keeping my lips from cracking and not being able to wear lipstick because it extenuates how dry they are.... Thanks!
Do you have a suggestion for how to wear deep hues for skin that really looks best in peachy corals? I have a lot of red and darkness to skin and deep reds or plum have always made me look a mess! I have to wear jewel tones and deep lips for a wedding and want to know if there is something I can do in my foundation process to help me wear those colors better..?
i have dark hair and pale skin and it does make me look sort of like a vampire... but i love it!! haha it's a nice change for the fall/winter for me :)
hi Lisa, I'm Italian and I love your style...I've combination skin, but Ihate the large pores on my cheeks...what can I use to correct them??? What foundation you suggest? I've 30 years old... thanks...kisses, fede
