Wearing dhutee in 2 style is superb N think everyone must follow this style specially the 2nd one.Background music is also mind blowing. Dhutee is a Part of Indian culture therefore we must respect N honour it.

A good and really helpful video on the whole. Bengali men have nearly discarded this attire for good, preferring Western wear instead. No wonder, they need assistance from elderly people who still go by tradition, to wear their dhotis which is de rigieur during their weddings and also during shradh ceremonies (last rites). As for people, who have denounced these styles of wearing dhotis, they couldn't come up with a better one. Some have objected to the cross. Thay should be totally ignored.

the second style is commonly worn in bengal ( only when in formal occasions ), but the sides u have shown is wrong the back side or kachha would be the left half of the dhoti and the front side or koncha would be the right half of the dhoti. The second style are worn in weddings and other formal occasion. there is another style which is worn informally, in households etc, that style is also beautiful..
Regarding the rosery; Hindu believe all religions are inherently good. They respect all religions and all worship of God no matter what walk of life you come from. In most cases they are very open to outsiders and all are welcomed, but they don't go out of their way to convert anyone, they want you to embrace your own beliefs and find your own path to enlightenment wherever it may be. They believe spirituality is a very personal path through life, so even if you are a Christian/Jew/Muslim, they do not want to take that away from you. Both seem to be amateurs. However, it is a good attempt. These two boys should have taken the help from someone who regularly wears dhothi. Further, the cross on the wrist is giving wrong indications. I think this duo are not competent to shoot this and publish it. Reason, they neither have content nor do they know the impact of publishing this video.

Many people have comments about wearing cross while wearing dhoti. Culture is different from religion. Do not mix both. Hindava Sthaan (Indosthania or India) is a place where many religions (Vishnavism, Shaivism, Buddhism, Jainism, Skihism etc) born, evolved, mixed, reinvented and still survived. Colonialization created a perception to brand entire ethnicity as a religion. Every Hindu has right to follow his ethnic culture irrespective of religion he/she adopted. Jesus did not wear pants.

LOL! Dhoti main kabhi bhi knot/ganth nahi banani chahiye. Sari pehente time ganth banana chalta hai. Dhoti to sirf dono sides main waist bone ke paas tight karna hota hai aur bandhna hota hai.
