Why shouldn’t you use one earbud? Is this true for all cases, for example if I were to use them for gaming should I still keep both in? Many thanks.
@clintbeasley
@clintbeasley 5 месяцев назад
Good question! I think using them for playback or computer sound would be different and one earbud isn’t an issue. The issue with using one earbud in a live stage/musician situation is that you tend to compensate in volume on the one earbud by turning it up to higher levels than it should be and boosting EQ to levels that may damage hearing. When people remove one ear, it’s typically to hear the stage and house sound - maybe they’re having trouble hearing a vocal or other element of the band or even the crowd, so they take one out. It’s not a big deal in a moment of a troubled in-ear mix, but getting accustomed to doing that like some do (particularly worship leaders and those in worship bands) can have damaging results over time. It’s better to work with your sound tech on tweaking the mix and even providing stage/house mics to provide that ambient and stage sound. When you break the seal of two buds in the ears, you kill the low (bass) frequencies. And you’ve entered the battle of stage volume within a closed ecosystem designed to eliminate that battle. So people unintentionally boost the bass, boost overall volume, and boost individual channels in their one ear to compensate for what’s lost when they removed the second earbud. Hope this is helpful!

If your IEM cord doesn't have a cinch bead, you can secure them by simply tying a simple overhand knot in the cable. It actually works better than the cinch bead because it never gets loose.

You can loop a rubber band around the cable just loose enough so it can slide, but also be secure if your IEMs don't have a slider. The snap style hair barrette can also be used. (not to attach it to your hair, but simply to hook the cables together. )

pro tip if you have an detachable IEM test left and right side with any youtube video you might be wearing them wrong.

Iv tried singing with custom mold earplugs that attenuate sounds to a degree and let you hear sound fairly clear. But when Iv done that all I really hear is the loud boom of my voice in my body. I wonder if IEMs cause this issue. It’s like sticking your fingers in your ears and then talking, you hear your voice internally . I don’t get how an IEM can be much better other than to blast it to Unhealthy volumes to compensate . My issue is I have hypersensitive ears, so blasting an amp over a drum set with no protection is a no go, even loud bars are too much for me. I’d love for IEMs to work but I’m not trying buy em only to realize It’a chasing the same issue or they have to be unreasonably loud to work properly.
@clintbeasley
@clintbeasley 29 дней назад
Yeah - good points. If you have the flexibility and inputs, you might try placing an ambient mic at your position and have that fed to your IEMs. Just an idea, but it might allow you to dial in just enough ambient/stage sound to not feel so closed in and relieve the finger in your ears effect but still enjoy the benefits of IEMs. There are also some in ear or personal monitoring systems that offer a built in mic on the little personal mix device that will do the same thing without having to mess with adding a mic and freeing up an input.

I bought a pair of KZ iem... I want to wear them at my jogging time, but it always falls from my ear. Any tips for this?
@clintbeasley
@clintbeasley Год назад
I THINK we purchased a set of KZ IEMs at a church I worked at. If I recall, I didn’t like them very much. BUT as far as fit, if they came with other sizes of ear tips, try a larger or smaller size. Also - if it came with moldable foam tips, try those. The foam tips you can squeeze to shrink, then insert them in your ear and hold them while the foam expands and creates a good seal.

how do people put the earbuds inside their ear? Everytime I try on new earbuds, it just falls right out. I tried the raycons, apple airpods, and some iems. It just doesnt work for me!!! :(
@leonardusl5141
@leonardusl5141 Год назад
You might have to try different size ear tips. Mine kept falling out until I used smaller ear tips, now they stay in.
@clintbeasley
@clintbeasley Год назад
Yep - different sized ear tips is a good idea. Also try foam ear tips. They can be crushed and then will mold to your ear canal as they expand. OR go full throttle and get custom ear molds made for your ears.

Had ur problem for years, until I bought airpods pros, these just fit perfectly (small ear tips), I also purchased a Moondrop Aria which also stay in with small ear tips 👌🏻

That slidy thing in my iem cable is too hard...(truth ear hola orignal cable) is it safe to pull it as its too hard to move..
@clintbeasley
@clintbeasley 3 месяца назад
If it’s designed to move, you should be okay to give it a little extra umph. Of course, if it feels like you might damage the cable, don’t force it. It might depend on the set of in ears if they’re designed to move. Someone else in the comments had a good idea about using a rubber band or some sort of tiny hair clip.

I have Portruded dumbo ears and i cant wear the IEM, what should i do?
@clintbeasley
@clintbeasley 2 месяца назад
Even with dumbo ears, you are fearfully and wonderfully made! But your in-ear tips might not be. You might try foam tips. Squeeze them down by rolling them in between your fingers. Then insert them and hold them there until the foam expands back out and fills and conforms to your ear canal. Not sure if it will make it fit better, but worth a shot. Good luck!

@clintbeasley

Might be a good case for custom ear molds. A lot of these IEMs you can swap the tips for custom ear molds. There are even some budget models that allow for that. 👍
@clintbeasley
@clintbeasley Год назад
Also - try the foam tips if you have them. You can squeeze the foam smaller, insert them, then hold the IEM for a minute while the foam expands to your ear canal. Creates a good seal which is crucial for the bass response.
