【SAMURAI ZOROYE】
[SAMURAI-ZOROYE] is a basic three-piece set of 〈HAKAMA〉, 〈DOUGI〉 and 〈OBI〉.
You can enjoy functional and authentic Samurai style. Able to wear in a short time, simple to care and fully sensible, and also, hardly loose shape.
It also has a function to fasten the bottom edge of 〈HAKAMA〉 like NINJA.
Everything you need is included so it is the best item as starter set.
[SAMURAI-ZOROYE] is well accepted by, heavy user who spend every day with wearing [SAMURAI-ZOROYE], and beginners and foreigners who wish to wear Hakama but without knowing what to prepare.
Also, using highly selected, easy to care materials like cotton or polyester are its characteristics as well. Texture of the materials are natural, and most of the coordination are in stodgy and chuff atmosphere so that Hakama style Wafuku, [SAMURAI-ZOROYE], are just fit for daily clothes. There is a top and bottom paired [SAMURAI-ZOROYE] in same material 〈HAKAMA〉 and 〈DOUGI〉. [SAMURAI-ZOROYE] can be used as Suits.

I would wear this all day every day if I wouldn't look a bit eccentric. This is the most beautiful clothing in the world. Why the heck did the japanese adopt western clothing? The west should have adopted this instead. This style of clothing is... poetic...

Convenience. I have a couple of kimono and a yukata and they not only take longer to put on than western clothing, but modern-day tasks are harder with them (i.e. going to the bathroom, sitting in a chair without your underwear showing, walking over stairs without them pulling your legs back, etc). I love to wear my kimono but I also understand why many Japanese do not wear this type of clothing anymore.

traditional clothing from western countries is beautiful too. The closest thing i can see to beauty in modern clothing is the hip hop clothing african Americans wear but it doesn't compare. BTW I would not wear this. false collars and weird plastic buckles are not worth the beauty they lose

Very nice and I would love to buy one for iaido; but why so outrageously expensive if I may ask. The fabric is neither silk nor wool. $700 + Canadian seems very overpriced.

So where would you BUY a Dougi, an Obi and a Hakama? I love this style of clothing. I would like to have a nice looking Zoroye. Not something flashy. Something like the brown Zoroye Tom Cruise wears when he gets caught by Higen in The Last Samurai.

Normally, we wear "juban" underwear, but the samurai zoroe has a "collar" on the dougi, so we don't need it.

Thanks for the clarification though my question is about traditional kimonos since the zipper is a modern western adaptation to modern kimonos. I am currently re-watching a Japanese soap opera named “OSHN” the story unfolds from 1907 and the western influence happens after the end of the WWI in 1918, after this year western influence arrived to Japan and with it the adaptations to the traditional kimonos. I remember wondering 🤔 how Japanese used to go to the bathroom in their apparently impractical traditional kimonos 👘

@@slamcutube In the old days, if you went to the toilet, you had to put your foot in one side. Or next to the toilet, there was a small room where you could take off your hakama.

For the Hakama without a zipper, you just need to lift up one of the legs. It's high enough to go over everything ;)

Which part of this is "samurai"? Anything to bring the viewers in, right? LOL All those plastic buckles and belt loops are so impractical. A traditional hakama is much easier and faster to put on.

This is so bizarre. Plastic buckles and all kinds of fabric strips to hold the ties in place. Why make hakamas even more complicated? If it's a modern invention, shouldn't it be faster or more beneficial somehow?
