You guys think you can BUY a birkin? they fucking interview you to check if yo you are eligible to graciously be allowed to even own one 😭😭😭 they do not want anyone having these fuck ass bags
It’s funny because birkin’s were made to be abused it’s literally designed to fit as many items you can in it look at Jane Birkin bag (she’s the muse the bag was made for her) it looks like it’s been through hell back and forth
Leather goods designer here: I always found it very peculiar the Birkin was such a coveted handbag, considering everyone I've seen wore it like how it is shown in the video. As someone who designs handbags, that's a tell tale sign of poor design, if it's impractical to close/open while maintaining sufficient security. The ideal bag should be convenient for the user to enter and close, but safe enough so a thief does not have easy access to it: think magnetic snaps, zippers, and turn locks are of great practical design, etc. I find it a bit silly to want a bag only to wear it the opposite the way it was intended. But of course, to each their own. I just think the overall design is very poorly thought out 😅
I agree. The bag isn’t even attractive for all the hype it gets. It’s just adorned over because a celebrity was seen with it and it comes across as “exclusive.” It’s ugly.
But these bags are super heavy empty, if you stuff them too much it becomes too heavy and unpractical to carry with the small handles. I don’t even know why I’m discussing this because this bag is realistically so ugly
Stand clear incase the thunderbolt misses me as I say, Louis Vuitton are hideous to my mind also. But some rave over them. There's no accounting for taste.
The funniest thing is that Jane Birkin would treat hers like a bucket 😂 filled to the brim almost bursting, battered and bruised, well loved. I think that is the most elegant way to wear it
it’s wild that majority of people with a bag like this don’t want to scratch it, while the lady the bag was named after, she wore her bag like any other normal bag
Right! She wore it so comfortably and made it unique and just used it like anyone would! And if they’re really trying to show how rich they are why don’t they trash the bag like that and get another 😂
When wearing zipper pants, fiddling with the top button to then fumble with the zipper when using the potty.... for me, wearing the top button open and zipper down all the time is much more convenient !
Or maybe shes being careful because she wants her bag to look good for a long period of time? By your logic you’re implying people shouldn’t ever buy nice things because it’s inevitable for something to never get dirty or scratched. Idk about you but most people dont find it stylish to wear run down things.
Have you ever seen the woman who created/designed these bags? And how she wears/uses them? She ABSOLUTELY DOESNT GIVE AF she uses them up, stuffs them full of stuff and always leaves it open. I honestly love it, she uses the bag the way she intended, to hold all of her things.
@@jacdgzmn they cannot stay in their fantasyland forever. That’s impossible. Have you been to New York? You cannot escape the poverty. & that’s not just New York.
If you need instructions on how to wear a bag… that’s not the bag for you 😂 I’m sorry, but for the price, this should be THE MOST CONVENIENT BAG on the planet.
@@lisakosler2342 English is my third language, babe. Also, the audacity of trying to correct me while not being able to type “not” properly and thinking it’s correct to say “getting USE to” is absolutely baffling 😂 it’s “getting USED TO” if you really wanna go there, hun. Check yourself before trying to check me. Lol
@@BrasileiraleI don’t think she was necessarily correcting you. It is difficult to interpret subtleties with tone, whether English is your third or even first language. Also, sometimes people make typos. Hope this helps!
@@dwilliams7377 no, she really thought it was “getting use to” and it was pretty obvious. It’s also actually a pretty common mistake people tend to make. Either way, we should always check ourselves before trying to point out mistakes of others. I love reciprocating!
leticialuyla2867 Right? For that price, the thing should open itself, take out what you want, put on your makeup, dial your phone for you then close itself! 😂
Jane was someone who understood they were simple bags, not museum pieces. They also didn't cost much at all. Jane Birkin made them cool, hence their name and so Hermès decided to sell them like they were rare diamonds. It's stupid, and a waste of money, the value of materials and manufacturing costs simply don't add up. So they're selling status. It's a cult. A silly materialistic one at that. You know someone is old money when they give no effs about the use of the bag, they let it get scuffed and used up. That said I do not judge collectors of the bags because they are sound investment pieces that will appreciate, safer than a lot of other investments. And if they enjoy them now and then more power to them.
I don't like them because the handles are too short. I like the story tho of how they came to be; Jane was getting on a plane with all her travel kit stuffed into straw bags, trying to stuff them into the upper compartment, everything emptied onto the floor, making her grab them. The head of Hermès design was sitting next to her and he had the bright idea to make the bag, which on first sight is basically a Kelly bag, with a double handle.
So, if I were a thief, you would be my first target. The bag screams money, and that person carrying it isn't too bright. You've made it even easier for a thief to reach in and take your stuff. Bravo!
This made me laugh, shake my head and roll my eyes at the same time. Imagine spending that much on a bag and not wanting to deal with opening and closing it. 😂
English actress Jane Birkin did NOT design this bag. It's an old Hermes design renamed in her honor and she hated the bag that was gifted to her bcus she said it was way too heavy for practical everyday use.
And yet she used it every single day for years and loved it to DEATH and when the first wore out she got another which she also used every day until that one wore out. Why would she continue to use and love it? She helped re-design an existing Hermes bag on a flight with one of the designers because she was using a basket as a bag at the time. She loved the bag back then. She hates them now because of the culture surrounding them and how much the price has gone up/ been inflated by the BS & Hype of designer bag culture and celebrity worship culture. When it was just a fairly expensive bag she helped tweak she loved it, now she despises this bag the same way she despises all bags that are part of this niche, and deeply loathes that “her” bag is the pinnacle of it and the story about it has been exaggerated over the years into saying she fully designed it when she just helped tweak an existing design to suit her needs. She wore hers like a regular bag and treated it rough, Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton and a few other gals in the 2000’s wore it the same way as Jane ; always open and over flowing with stickers/patches/badges on it and scarves tied to the handle etc. then at some point wealth elites began to collect and invest in designer bags and now the bag is at the insane absurd ridiculous disgusting status it is today which involves waiting lists and invites and all sorts of pomp and nonsense that Jane detests and is disgusted by. So yeah it’s a bit more complicated than just saying she hates it and didn’t design it. You’re not wrong but you’re also not correct either: it’s a complex narrative. When I was younger I wanted a Birkin as a fan of Jane, and back then they were still eye wateringly, save up for years and reward yourself for a huge achievement levels of expensive but still a realistic purchase for a normal person. Then suddenly they were no longer able to even be bought in store by someone like me and Internet celebrities I had never heard of were collecting them and paying house deposit level prices for them and that’s when I lost any interest in getting one. I’ve decided I’m going to save up for a really well made fake or a custom made piece from a leather artisan that is heavily inspired by a Birkin but different with my own personal flare to it. Anyways there is my info dump of the full more complicated bag history / situation and a random personal anecdote on the end! Have a lovely day
Bags in D U P B A G Y are quite exquisite, and the workmanship is also meticulous. There is almost no difference from the original ones, and they are great value!
I love how she’s instructing us on how we should properly wear our $30,000 Birkin bags as if any of us could ever afford one. 😂 If I had that much money, I certainly wouldn’t spend it on a bag.
For real! Even if I had the money, I just could not spend the amount of a car on a hand bag. That I'm gonna scratch, carry diapers and kids stuff in it. Just wow
I looked up the prices on this brand bag and saw one used on eBay for $190,000😄and one for $100,000. I think it's ridiculous that people would spend this kind of money on a bag. Even $20,000 is nuts.
My wife has one and she never opens it when we’re out together I figured it was because she was so happy and focused on me, but I realize now it’s because they’re difficult and since I pay she has no reason too haha
My favorite bag is the one I thrifted for $1 2yrs ago. It's just a simple water-resistant cloth and I could stuff my things and even groceries in it. Sooo lightweight! 😊
I appreciate *rrcopys* 's attention to detail in every bag they make. Zippers, handles and stitching are carefully crafted to make their bags true works of art. And their prices are so surprising to me!
Actually most celebrities get their assistant to pay for their meals, so for them it is very convenient since they won't be opening it for literally anything
The moment I saw the *rrcopys* tote, I knew I had to have it. Luxurious materials, vibrant colors and attention to detail make these bags a true fashion statement
First of all, the H Q D U P S materials used in this replica are top-notch. The leather feels soft and luxurious, just like the real thing. The stitching is impeccable, no loose or uneven lines. The hardware, including the signature CC twist-lock closure, is sturdy and well-made, adding to the overall elegance of the bag.
That's their money. They earned it. Most rich people I know actually helps the poor in other ways. Why don't you asks instead why are pets like dogs so pampered wherein there a lot of people in the world starving. I think it will be the same answer.
@@BiboyYobibNo person can physically work the hours to generate all of the profit required to be rich. Becoming rich requires exploiting other people's labour and natural resources, avoiding taxation and/or otherwise failing to redistribute wealth. It's repeatedly shown that people with lower incomes spend higher percentages of their disposable income in the general economy and on charity. Charity from the rich is often a form of tax avoidance or a way to exert influence and improve public image. Very few of the world's biggest philanthropists have ever lost billionaire status and none of them gained their wealth because their labour was actually worth billions. People who accumulate immense wealth simply cannot justify the exploitation that inherently removes wealth from circulation creating poverty. Wealthy people paying thousands extra to other wealthy people for added prestige in the context of mass deprivation deserve the same criticism whether it's bags, pets, jewellery, cars, houses... You can choke on the boot if you want to but don't act like we should all be eating leather when we could eat the rich.

it is so beautiful! ! ! Nice and roomy with lots of pockets and zipped pockets to keep your things organized. I think for the price it's definitely worth it. I'll update if anything changes after I've used it again.
I thought I was the only one that wear mines like that too, it’s convenient but that’s why I barely wear it especially because I don’t want ppl to be able to go in my bag
Like if you’re only owning it as an investment this can be good advice but you’re also probably better off just keeping it on display rather than using it but if you’re owning it to actually own it and have it as a nice comfortable bag that you use regularly just use it and use it often and it’ll soften
