I made the same mistake first time….. you have to really pull the yarn tight to give it a clean and tight look. Let me know if this solved your problem.

I calculated each colour approximately Square- 60” Star-540” Hexagon-160” I hope this helps

Emily Coffman-Peerson I made a knot to secure it properly . Some people also glue it in the back. But I found tying a knot is more suitable (at least for me).

That’s a good question. I learned my first mandala online….. then I went on experimenting with different designs either planned by myself or seen in a picture.
