What habits would you like to develop for 2024? Let me know in the comments! Get creative with it! One thing I enjoy doing is incorporating rewards with long-lasting effects, like mints. I pop them in at the beginning of my routine, experiencing that refreshing sensation throughout the habit. I have a friend who eats ice cream while walking - she gets the reward at the start and in the middle of her workout! (If you want to avoid ice cream, consider an all-natural fruit juice popsicle.) Experiment with non-food rewards, too, such as lotions, essential oils, or face masks! A couple of tips if your habit isn't sticking: If you encounter issues in the first 2-3 days, it might be your CUE. ⏰ Find a different cue during another part of your day. It may take a bit of trial and error. If you face problems in the first 5 to 7 days, you might be skimping on your REWARD. 🍫 Start with something a bit more indulgent and then tone it down. If issues arise around 30 to 60 days in, you might be overdoing it in your ROUTINE. 🏃 Start simple; you can always ramp up later. Think of it like drilling a hole in a wall. For accuracy, begin with a small pilot hole. After establishing that, it's easier to drill a bigger hole or insert a screw. The slower you start, the more stable and stronger your foundation becomes. Don't be embarrassed. Do what you need to do!
