It has definitely been nerfed, but it looks like only in competitive playlists. Here's what I just got from 100 open water line casts in each of the following: Solo pubs: 35 small fry, 1 flopper Squad pubs: 33 small fry, 3 floppers, 2 slurp fish Solo arena: 6 small fry

EDIT: This is fixed in arena ONLY, but NOT pubs. I've heard some people saying this is patched. It's not (as of 11/7) and this strat remains broken. I figured this out too and won a match yesterday cuz I was tryna compete in the fishing frenzy. Not even close. The too guy in my region has 70 fish in a single match
I've made it to final circle in arena with my trio but they're not as good as me at this strat. Anyone want to do this strat with me for arena points? I'm already in champs from fishing
I'm top 10 in Arena solo 90% of the time. I've ditched guns completely. The Storm is the enemy. Even common poles and strategic placement can get you far.
