Really like the video. I learned a lot about Pocket and his matchups. The graphics you used also look great. I think the graphics do stay on the screen too long and they can cover up important details. Like at 6:45, we don't get to see the rotation they made on you because the item graphic you have up.
@@DeadlockAir Please move them off to the side or pause like you did at 9:50 since regardless of how long they stay up, the block the most important part of the video, the middle (talking about the one at 1:35).
I find this incredibly helpful. It’s nice to hear you think out loud so I can understand how to transfer my knowledge of DotA 2 over here and maybe increase my skill a bit faster.
I love the pop ups explaining the thought process the only feedback id give is when u do the ones that arent pausing gameplay, it might be better to make the text smaller, more caption style because its a bit jarring to lose the gameplay entirely when you cover it and its still going. I hope that makes sense and I love the video!!
Video/format was great, loved how you broke down decision making, item choice/theory, macro decision making, etc. The extra camera angles were a little jarring, I like the idea of using them but it took a couple seconds to figure out where the camera was and what was happening, kinda like a random flashbang of suddenly not understanding what's happening for a few seconds. Might either use a more dynamic cam to fly out of a more third-person perspective to wherever you want the camera to end up for that shot, or some other kind of establishing shot so the viewer doesn't get so confused. Also don't forget the 180 degree rule, for the last shot attacking the base it was strange the way it was oriented, kinda like we're suddenly put in the enemy's perspective and are losing for the last few seconds of the video (just felt a little odd). Overall great video and I hope you make more like it 👍
Really enjoyed the look into higher level play, especially in regards to map presence. I can mechanically outplay most of my matchups, but I haven't played enough yet to fully grasp the bigger picture of match flow. Most of my games seem to devolve into rolling back-and-forth teamfights, which are fun, but probably not the best strategy. Definitely looking forward to more.
Ah yes the deathball cringefest, usually your best bet there is to split a side lane, get farmed and hope you can bag a couple of objectives. Then return to teamfighting, those games I usually just take it on the chin of either my team holds out in time for me to carry or we just lose the game. ~ blank
I have a feeling you’re gonna be one of the biggest Deadlock RU-vidrs out there! Your content is rly fun, engaging and high produced with those graphics- along with great gameplay and voice?? Yea no doubt Gives me a YourOverwatch feel- take that as you will LOL
I enjoyed this, especially the pop-up graphics, it made it easier to watch for a few minutes and then comb to the next stage. I really like Pocket and am excited to incorporate some of those item buys I hadn't considered before.
Learned a lot, need more! Only tech I could suggest: you can repeatedly slide on the stairs at the opponents tier 1 guardian, firing during the slide doesn’t count towards your mag. Helps with harass a lot (unless he already knew that and wasn’t doing it intentionally lol) 👍🏻
I don’t comment or interact a lot on RU-vid but great vid man, you explained everything very well and easy to understand, truly a great vid to help people with a mechanic intensive game. Keep up the great work
Every time I see Pocket I can definitely hear "I'm vengeance for the De Rolos" Echoing inside my mind, good video about macro gaming, for me as a completely new Moba player (A few hours in Dota and Lol doesn't count:)) your vids helps me to improve in the game, so ty, my man
Those graphics and explanations are great! I hope you keep them, they make understanding the game much much easier for us outsiders who haven’t played! Hope to see more from you :)
Nice video I have a couple questions. Did valve release a press package or anything for item icons/game font?As for getting better games, is mmr based per character? Times like this I wish I was EU people tend to play more team oriented. I like how you follow the abilities and give different perspectives sometimes, keep it up.
My guy, I loved this video. The way you showed us gameplay but took time to stop and explain what was happening was very helpful. Subscribed and looking forward to future content.
Great video, I loved the effort you put into the editing! I do think the graphic pictures of items stay on the screen a bit long, and however much I love the cool cut shots to you mid air collapsing on the enemy, I would personally love seeing the actual build up to that moment and then a cool shot like that as you jump up. Because personally I'm having a really hard time estimating how far my Majestic Leap is going to take me! I'm definitely subscribing and looking forward to other content from you
Really cool to see all the context for what you're doing and buying. Regarding your purchase of Majestic Leap, can you offer your insight on the 'fill your slots first' philosophy so many other content creators recommend? You talked about why the item is so good on Pocket, how would picking up 6 tier 1s compare?
Great video! loved the the graphics and how your explanations. One point of constructive criticism I wanna offer is that the non player perspective transitions like at 8:17 are cool in concept but feel a little... idk, empty? like in an informative video like this it could maybe be a moment to explain a broader concept for the next part of the video with an overlay on the background footage. personally those transitions work better when they're accenting a key point being made. Either way I'm looking forward to seeing where this community goes if stuff like this is already being made.
i really love these kind of educational videos. it teaches me way more than just talking and showing statistics. i like the play and learn aspect. i hope you make many more videos like these
Great style. Love the mix of live commentary and post voice over. Just great stuff. If I could make a personal request: I'd love something similar for Haze.
im subbing since im so addicted to this game right now. I've only been playing tactical FPS like valorant and CS. even tho I used to play DotA2, I have 5k hours on it. I just stopped and I felt really good about it. but playing this even tho it has similar vibe to game like DotA, since it's been like 5 years since I quit playing dota. my Macro got rusty. this is so helpful.
no need for the edit (other than 2 second item descriptions), just upload one of these a day and it will be awesome. the decision commentary is what is really good and how you look at the matchup
Really cool video. Love the way you explained your itemization. Could you put the name of the item name above the icon? Im still so new i dont recognize anything by sight
Good video (in the middle of watching it), though two things I noted The title cards are nice but when they're on top of active footage they prevent seeing what's going on And also Pocket goes by they/them :)
Great vid, an easy subscription from me. I prefer when you stick to gameplay perspective though. The cut to drone shots is a bit jarring/confusing IMO. Also I agree the graphics should stick around a bit less, we can pause if need be! Seriously great quality, keen to see more 👍
This is exactly what I was looking for. I felt like I could only play seven or warden because I didn't quite get how to play characters that aren't simple DPS.
very nice to see, they're my favorite character despite the boring ult imo (hopefully it gets changed to something less... fire and forget?). love all the movement possibilities with them
I'm new to MOBAs can you explain how you're supposed to play mid and late game? I'm really confused on what I'm supposed to do after the match moves on from just farming souls and playing your lane. Thank you for any help also this is genuinely the best deadlock content I've seen so far on RU-vid!
Depends on who you're playing and the situation in the game. If you're playing someone who's good at ganking, like Lash, then running around and trying to kill is a way to go. If you're playing someone with a good mobility and wave clear, like Lash, then split pushing can be a good idea. If you're playing someone with a good team fight potential, like Lash, then trying to initiate a fight with your ult is a good idea, and if you're playing as someone who could solo carry in the late game, like Lash, the farming could be a good idea. So in conclusion: Lash.
Good video, I echo the sentiments around making the on screen text about items/other tips less intrusive to the gameplay. You could try doing some videos that are fully post game commentated as you are definitely very good at explaining the concepts, but it is tough to split your focus while trying to play the game
Love the explanations and edits. What I want to know is how do you play around Pocket’s inherent 15% spirit vulnerability? Should spirit armor be a core buy every match?
Great video, but I think you need to change something about the graphics used throughout. Either keep them out of the way, or minimize the time shown on screen. Many times I couldn't see what was happening due to a giant graphic on my screen.
great video. the urn macro is something i learned by accident while playing. notice them camping the turn in so i kept pushing on the opposite side of the map. still not 100% sure what the full value of turning in the urn is compared to taking objectives.
Really like the production quality here, but the segments where we lose the HUD and go cinematic are currently quite jarring and hard to follow. That's also super important times to see what the player is actually DOING. I think they need another look to determine if they are adding anything to the video. Every time it happens, I am like "what is going on" for a sec. I think they detract from this experience, which is otherwise very good.
I’ve been having a lot of fun with Pocket, but I haven’t had time to really experiment with their build path yet. What’s a good general rule of thumb for buying their items? I’ve just been using the in-game recommended items, but I know for sure there’s more to it than just the recommendations. Also, for upgrading abilities, is there a meta around it? I’ve been putting one point in each as soon as I can (since first point is cooldown reduction and that’s very good on them I’ve noticed), but after that I’m not so certain.
I do like the videos but the information about heroes, items , and such should be less intrusive if gameplay isn’t paused. Also yeah great video earned a sub. ❤
Didn’t the beta for the game just come out? How the fuck are there dedicated channels and high level strats getting chopped up already? This is why these games (especially team shooters and MOBAs) struggle to attract new players. Because at launch, on day one, you’re already playing against a bunch of dudes who’ve got 3000 hours logged in game.
When I read this character I figured out that using your invulnerability in order to wait for your cape to make distance would be more of a core mechanic (since both abilities are pretty much the same to puck from dora) but I haven't seen it a lot, is it a thing? It's just hard?
I like the use of the “theater mode” but I wish you’d show the full gameplay clip as well. Maybe the full clip and then once there’s downtime after or even pause the gameplay, then show the replay. Just some feedback from a single viewer
Hey I play a lot of pocket and I noticed you don't use the 2-3 combo to make the explosion happen at the destination very much. Is that intentional? I assume you're saving the 2 in case you need to escape?
Great video! It was very insightful. I do tend to like the playstyle that's very up in your face but I realize now pocket is very pokey and situational? I did find myself struggling with finishing people off so hopefully I can take the tips from the guide!
Exactly! Going against a pocket that gets ahead early is very misleading, I thought showing off a game where I'm on the backfoot might be easier to understand. Pocket usually waits to poke someone down before they can use all their abilities in a short rotation to burst someone. It's very important to understand that his 1 (barrage) applies stacking damage amplification for every hit you get with it, so try to trade when you get 2-3 stacks first :) I'm glad it was helpful! ~ Blank
the pop up graphics were a good touch but they lingered a little too long or were too large, covering the content. For example, at around 5 minutes when you shop the graphic is up for a solid 20 seconds and we miss the trade/chase....it may not be "important", but we're here to watch the play, not the item descriptions. It may be better to consider doing something like popups at the bottom or side, something that doesn't obscure the gameplay as much.
video editing idea: Instead of pausing the video footage while explaining, maybe have B-Roll footage to "fill in". I can't see your analytics but if you notice a viewership dropoff during those times that may help with retention.
Pocket seems alright, I just play viscous as of right now. Pocket though? I wreck him everytime, he always tries to push my lane and over extend when people play him
instead of putting the graphics on the whole screen and blurring the gameplay, put them in a corner at the top of the screen. You had a trade with vindicta around the 5 min mark where you go in that is completely obscured
Brother I may not be high mmr but I use pocket as a dive tank, instead of poke mobility. I engage with teleport and case, I do purchase cold front but I use cd reduction and warp stone to teleport out and I demolish
