Depends on which machine you have, the "H" series machines use "M" bobbins, the "A" series machine use the "L" bobbin.

Hi! Your domestic machine takes a different bobbin to your JACK but there is no harm in trying to wind a domestic bobbin on the JACK. Your F5 takes industrial "L" class bobbins.

There is an adjustment you can make to stop this from happening, it should have been done by the technician when you bought your new machine. The little arm that you bring across to wind the bobbin can be adjusted so that less thread is put on the bobbin. Loosen the phillips head screw that holds it in place then move it slightly closer to the bobbin and see how that goes. It may take a few goes to get it where you want it.

Yes Sandra, the needle does go up and down when winding a bobbin as there is no clutch on an industrial machine. Quite good really as you can wind a bobbin whilst you are sewing and if set correctly will dis-engage when full.

@@ozcommercialsewingmachines what??? i’ve had my machine for a couple of years now and didn’t know this😅. it was always a hustle to wind my bobbins, i tried this last night and was able to wind 4 bobbins while sewing!!! thank you for sharing
