In this video, I show you how to wound a bobbin if you are using the type of sewing machine I use and your bobbin winder is not working correctly. It is safe to do and you still get the same results.
Oh blessings upon you!!! My 100yo singer's bobbin winder was refusing to work, & I did NOT want to wind by hand! This worked an absolute trick!! Thank you!!!
my bobbin winder recently broke and i have been winding by hand for 2 days while trying to find a better, quicker way to do it, i found your video and i have a completely different sewing machine but decided to try it on mine anyway and it WORKS! you have saved so much time and stress for me and i’m so grateful for you and your video!😭
Thank you for sharing your discovery! I found this video while researching how to fix my broken bobbin winder and you have saved me a lot of time and tedious hand sewing.
I modified my Singer 237 with a spoked hand wheel to use with a treadle and had to remove the bobbin winder to make it fit. This is a great way to wind my bobbins now! Thanks!
I just came across this video and its a life-safer! I hold the bobbin against the wheel with a short screw driver in my right hand and use a longer screwdriver to hold the spool in my left hand. After several failed attempts, I held the spool and bobbin level to each other and it works perfectly. Big thumbs up to Cisca Stitches!!
This is brilliant! The bobbin winding spindle on a borrowed old Sears Kenmore 1226 is jammed. I just spent the last 3 hours taking it apart to fix it. I thought I would have to wind by hand. Then I found your video! Had to find the right angle to hold the bobbin, and keep it very steady. Works so well! Thank you so much!!
Erm...I haven't tried that but the way it works with the bobbin is such that the rounded ends of the bobbin hangs on the wheel of the machine so the middle can fill with thread.
