How To Wire: 1 Volume, 1 Tone, 3 Way Toggle Switch

In this video we demonstrate how to wire a simple dual humbucker setup using 1 volume 1 tone and 3 way toggle switch.
We use our PRS wiring kit for this video - whilst wired into a PRS SE style template, it can be used to replicate any circuit using a single volume, single tone and 3 way toggle switch (Epiphone Les Paul Special II for example)
Components used:
- SSS Premium® 500k CTS pots
- Switchcraft® right angle toggle switch + deep thread nut
- Switchcraft® 1/4'' jack socket
- Gavitt USA braided hook up wire
- SSS Premium® 0.022uF PIO capacitor

lol weird, this is the exact kind of guitar I’m fixing right now, too… PRS SE one time/volume and 3-way. Can’t remember if I previously fixed it like 10+ years ago; but I did a shitty soldering job last time, so trying to clean it up a bit. 😂

That's really good work :) I am just about to replace my 5 way rotary selector on my PRS with a three way toggle switch like this, but I also want to add a small toggle switch as a coil splitter (not a push/pull pot) I am hoping you have a video or link to one that I could use?? My humbucker pickups connect to the 3 way selector switch.2 pickups 1 volume,1 tone. Would they function/sound any different if connected to the pots?

Can you do a free way 6 position switch with 1 vol 1 tone? split coils, series parallel out of phase ect...

do the different 0.22 apacitors affect the sound? e.g. Bumble Bee, Orange Drop etc

Nope - they all sound the same. Only the value makes a difference

If it fits in the cavity I would use Orange Drops. One of the reasons is that if you’re sloppy and accidentally burn it, it will still work. Those Orange Drops are durable

Can you please do a tutorial on how to properly wire an HSS with one volume one tone and 5 way switch, with treble bleed for all pickups and resistance for the single coils so that they see 250k instead of 500k.

Do you do a kit for 2 volume, 1 tone and 3 way? A lot of Asian guitars that are popular for modding come with this configuration.

Hope you're well Paul - no we don't sorry . Closest is either this PRS kit or the Les Paul Special II kit, then add a pot on the side.

Do you have access to idiot guide plans??????? I need to do two guitars with double humbuckers. One guitar (Harley Benton sc1000 custom fr with Harley Benton high gain humbuckers) is a volume, with push pull tone (toggle switch) and the other guitar ( a Harley Benton cts24 fr with two iron gear hot slags) two volume and one tone push pull, toggle switch, both with all parts wires and capacitors listed ecommended how much and where from if you do 😁 I have 500k CTS pots and CTS push pulls for both but no clue as to what I need or doing lol
