My truck is an 03 with manual seats my question to you sir is do these trucks have a connector for power seats ? Am i screwed if i buy powers seat and don't have a connection for them
I am not sure whether or not there will be a connector under the carpet. If not, you should just need to run a ground and a positive wire from the battery to connect power to the seat. make sure to put a fuse in line with the positive if you end up running your own cables.
Just wanted to say THANK YOU! Just did this yesterday and make my wiring soooo much easier and didn't have to deal with light testing and all that. So thanks for simplifying it!
I just did this wiring in a set of 2020 seats and it worked first time. Wish I could find something on getting the lumbar inflators to work but I’ll take what I got.
Thanks Aric Ream! Yeah, i did this mod about a year ago and I love the new seats! They are a really nice, easy interior upgrade that can be done inexpensively. Just have to find a good deal on the seats out of a wrecked 4th gen.
@@JayRays1truck Unfortunately I didn’t disable the seat belt chime before I pulled the old seats out and cut the plug off so now I’m trying to figure out how I’m going to do this
Just did a seat swap in my 06 and got the seats to work but there's a ton of wires that are now abandoned.Seats are really more comfortable and the truck feels way smoother, but the seatbelt chime is driving me nuts.I found out i could have disabled the chime and should have done that before the swap. Are the other 2 wires for the seat belt sensors ?
did u just get your connector from a junk yard? for the guys with all the extra wires is for the heated seats. there is a module under drivers seat that connects the drivers seat to the steering wheel and passenger seat.
I have th same connector out of the truck I got my seats out of. My harness has two blue and a pink wire. All the others are the exact same pin number and wires. Was there any wires you discarded out if the 4th gen truck side harness? I don't need the airbags etc obviously in the seat itself.
@@JayRays1truck power, ground, 1 dark green with tan stripe, 2 green with gray stripe, 2 red with yellow stripe and blue with purple stripe. So 8 total. I only need the seat to move forward and back, up and down and the lumbar. By your video it should do just that if I remove the other wires
@@RMYD002 I have the same as you, I figured out how to get seat to move but did you figure out seatbelt chime? What wires in main harness is used for seatbelt?
@@MichaelLewis-dj2sl the seatbelt wires are the green/red and the black/orange on the 3rd gen connector. I just did this install today. I cut the seatbelt connector off the 3rd gen seat and wired it up to the female connector I previously took off my driver seat. It worked out just fine. I also used my 3rd gen seatbelt on the 4th gen seat. As far as the airbag on the seat I just unplugged it so there’s no issue(nothing can happen if there’s no power going to it)
Did you have electric seats before this or manual ? My truck has manual seats on both passenger and driver I want to fit 4th gen electric seats to my 3rd gen manual seats will the connections be the same ?
Hello sir, i swapped my laramie 2008 full floor center console, with 4the gen center jump seat. I need some help please wiring. On the previous console i had cigarettes lighter , only. On the new jump seat there is cigarettes lighter and usb and aux. Thx in advance
@@JayRays1truck so far what I have learned the AMP power going to the airbag in the seats is different between 2012 and 2013 and even if i get a 2012 harness to the seat and wire everything up that could set off the airbag in the seats or put a warning light on the dash. Do you know anything about that or how to deal with that?
Hey my plugs are a bit differnt mine is grey some reason I just tried power and ground and wasent getting anything idk may have blown fuse will check in am
I did not have to do anything for the light since I used my old seatbelts and the connections did not change. If you used the 4th gen seatbelts, you will have to make sure they are wired in to the harness. It is a 2 wire connection so it should be rather straight forward. If it does not work when connected one way, reverse the wires.
I imagine it would be. I don’t think there were many changes between 2003 and 2006. The fact that the seats from a 2017 bolt right in was pretty amazing to me.
I got my seats at a junk yard and got the connectors with them out of the truck the seats came out of. Also, the connector for my truck came off my old seat
Lyle Richard, honestly, I am not sure what those wires are tied into. I believe they are for the airbag sensor, but I am not 100% sure. If anyone else knows, please comment!
Can you tell me what year you found for the seats? The local salvage yards where I live are telling me the 4th gen seats have airbags in them and it can go off and the world could explode after we're invaded by martians...
@@JayRays1truck I ended up finding 4th gen seats from a 2010 1500 (Leather), the controls are just like yours but can you tell me what the rocker switch on the right does?
