How to wire strawflowers 

Hi. I don’t loop the wire but just push it in the bottom till it almost comes through the top but doesn’t quite so you can’t see it. As it dries it holds fast to the wire. Keeps the face undisturbed this way. I chop all the stem off as well and use a finer gauge wire about 14 I think which supports the head well and seems to work well for most things. I use them in button holes a lot so a finer wire is less noticeable.

Have you tried wiring celosia? The plume variety?
