in UK you can work as an a Oral therapist just by registering ? in New Zealand we have to study Oral therapist all over again !! the BDS here is worthless
Yes, as of now you can register as Dental Therapist and can start working. Though the registration process itself in the UK is quite difficult, with all the proper documentation and the CDP points.
I checked on internet about some hygenjst and therapist jobs in uk. Approximately how many percents accepts a sponsorship for an oversea seeker? Briefly is it diffucult to find a job as a foreigner? Thanks for informations
This route works for those who already have a British visa, like - someone who is on a dependent visa will easily find a sponsor, for others it is a bit difficult to find a sponsor.
if u dnt hve British passport or British long stay visa the hygienist isn't beneficial if u get married and reach there now u can chose this route but on Indian or Pakistani passport no British visa stamped no one will give u a job from ur home town and will send u job offer as hygienist so only beneficial for those who have British visa already stamped

It is stated that if we are an overseas qualified dentist we cannot apply for assessment under this route since march 8 , does this mean that as a dentist I cannot apply for dental therapist?
As you said that there were no hyginiest or therapist in india . you spelled it wrong madem there are hygienist in india from 2005, they have been qualified and registered in state counsils . please note that
Thank you for letting us know about this. Can you help us get connected with a Dental Hygienist in India, so that we can create awareness about this field as well.
@@bridgebuildersacademy hello iam denatl hygienist in India I have done my 2 year course in Dental hyginist and after that Iam registered in dental council of India DCI And I want to know how can I go UK as a dental hygienist please reply
@@mukeshchauhan5571 You need to get yourself registered with GDC. The process would be same as explained in the video. Please check with GDC, send them email about your application. They will give you all the details.
There is no such mandatory requirement. It depends on what topics are not covered in your bds syllabus & are asked in the learning outcome form, only for those topics you would do a cpd course.
You can start the application process during the internship, but the professional license will be given after the internship. Also, you need to see if they require an experience letter, then better apply after the internship.
After successful registration, you should look out for sponsored DT/DH jobs; by sponsored we mean that your employer can help you to get the visa process done. But this happens rarely, that your employer will sponsor a visa for DT/DH job. So, this route works best for those who already have a work permit visa in the UK.
No, It is very much available. It hasn't been announced officially by GDC. See here - www.gdc-uk.org/registration/join-the-register/route-to-registration/registration-as-dcp-with-overseas-qualification
There are no changes as such for the registration process. You can browse through the GDC website and understand the process involved - www.gdc-uk.org/registration/join-the-register/route-to-registration/registration-as-dcp-with-overseas-qualification
Can we initially work as a hygienist for a few months and then move on to practise as a dental therapist? What procedure should we follow for the shift?
Would suggest you to please reach out to Dr Mahwesh through her channel and get more details. You can also watch her videos, as she has detailed out all the processes in detail.
Hello ma’am, firstly Thank you for your genuine guidance. If I’m not wrong dental hygienist can be done after 12th .. I just finished my BHMS now can i do dental hygienist is it possible to do ? After so many courses my eyes stuck into two programs MPH and dental hygienist can you suggest me which program is good forBHMS graduates students.
I heard about if the validity of a bachelor's degree (BDS) is less than two years, that means that you are exempt from IELTS or OET, and it’s not required from the GDC is that true?
Can u please tell me how to reach dr mehwish? Plus is it possible to go UK at startup visa and then apply there for dental hygienist after doing bds and housejob from Pakistan
You can study BDS in the UK after 12th but check on the fees structure. For international students, the fees are pretty high and also check on the scholarship provided.
Ma'am pls reply 1. Is passing ORE exam necessary for getting ourself registered? 2. Did you have to pay 500 pounds again ,when you reapplied for the registration? 3. do we have to give the IELTS exam?
For practising dentistry in the UK if you are an overseas dentist then yes ORE or LDS exam anyone is required to get registered. For the remaining two questions, the answer is a yes.
Hello, very nice and informative video. i have a query. if the candidate has an established and successfully running dental clinic can it be considered as experience and how to report it in the application
Please refer to the GDC site for more details - www.gdc-uk.org/registration/join-the-register/route-to-registration/registration-as-dcp-with-overseas-qualification
If you are in the UK on dependent visa, you can start with the process of getting yourself register for Dental Therapist. Meanwhile, while you do your registration process, shadow under a dentist and understand what all scope you have and build your network.
@@chandana9809 Not sure. Try sending out mail to GDC, they will be able help more on your query. But for getting a job as a DT/DH you need to have tier 2 dependent visa.
Hey, thanks a lot for the video . Much appreciated. I have got question - can I work as dental hygienist/ therapist job on skilled worker dependent visa once I get registered?
Hi. Thank you for sharing your experience and the very useful information you're sharing. I am already in the dental field working as a dental Assistant but I'm living overseas how can I apply as a dental therapist what are the requirements and do they offer scholarships for overseas students?
The application process is explained in the video and this process is the same for all overseas aspirants. Alternatively, you can go onto the GDC website and file your application as Dental Therapist.

We actually do not help in the registration or application process. We would recommend you to please reach out to GDC and ask why the application is rejected, they will tell you the reasons. As far as dental nurse in UK is concerned, if we get any information regarding this will definitely share.
Very useful video . I tried downloading the application form but they ask you for dental ethics and law from a uk/ GDC stand point . We are not taught according to GDC standard. How to make up for that

It is very difficult to find sponsors for hygienist / therapist. As these roles are usually self employed. This route is best for candidates who already have a visa.
@@kevinvarghesesom6482 Self employed is someone who works on contract basis or daily basis. You provide service , you don't work as an employee. So , no paid holidays or job security. But the good thing is its flexible and you can work as per your convenience.
