I've been kind of amazed at how many techs don't seem to know about the slip layer. It is my most favorite thing, it makes everything easier. I learned it from your step by step gel nails series, so thank you for that. Looking forward to your video on thicker gels ♥️

Honestly.. without the slip layer I feel like runny gels sometimes have better control, you only need to rely on surface tension to move it,

I thought of you and remembered what you had said before, so I bought some thinner IBD and it’s much easier! I need to get some of this particular gel if it’s available to the public in the US. It seems perfect since all I do is overlays on my natural nails.

I noticed not only does the room temp change how the gel flows, but also if a client's body temp runs hot. Oh boy, in the summer I have issues with that. My previous salon owner started to limit when we could turn on the air conditioner. So the combo of the warm salon and a client's hot body temp will make me change which gel viscosity I use.

Went ahead and cleaned up the nail and put my base coat on to prepare it for a regular gel color. Looked at the nail and the nail bed looks somewhat cloudy white? Is that normal? @TheNailHub
@TheNailHub 2 года назад
Hi almost all gels can be found in both pots and bottles so it's important to look at what it actually is. If it says base coat then that is the product you will want to apply to the natural nail. And then builder gel after. Protein bond or bonder is an additional product you can add before base coat to enhance adhesion but it should be used sparingly. Hope that helps.
