In Phoenix Arizona the heat melts the glue on the tape. Then sticks to your clothes, skin and anything that touches it. DON'T DO DUCT TAPE PERIOD!!!

Yes I see this a lot too at my shop Rudy. Mainly on bike seats, Polaris seats. This guy I’ve known my whole life as a kid asked me how much I would charge to fix a Polaris seat they use in farm. Cushion needed repairs. $200.00 He said he’d think about it. He retired postmaster. Hes always had plenty of money . I don’t understand some people

I highly recommend watching the episode of myth busters where the guy's were stranded on an island with nothing but a bunch of duct tape. They showed that you can survive quite comfortably with just the silver stuff

Real professionals such as myself use the black Gorilla duct tape. Works for 20 years minimum. Regardless, Red Green would be proud of you!

@@oldschoolautoupholstery Well, I have a big Mercury out back which has a completely frosted rear window from a branch hitting it in a storm. The amount of Gorilla tape I used in one shot to keep it from imploding "should" qualify me as a duct tape pro. As for the 20 years, I taped it about 5 years ago and it's still holding, AND I live in Phoenix. So a wild guess. With any kind of luck I may be able to remove the window in one piece. Or, more likely,it will shatter in my face and I'll look like more of a Gorilla than I do know. That's my story and I'm "sticking" to it.

I was In AZ for 38 years before I moved to a small town in East Texas a couple of years ago. Try taping the inside of the glass before you tape the outside. Please keep liking and watching!

@@oldschoolautoupholstery Good advice on taping the inside of the window. The outside is already done. A month or two before I can do that because...Phoenix. 1964 Mercury Monterey Marauder. I'm looking for a source for new replacement glass. Windshield has a couple cracks so I need to do both ends.

I am in the HVAC business. We don't use that at all. We use silver aluminum tape with mastic on top.
