This is the best way. It looks much better and it is very durable. No tape at the spot on your bike that you see the most during riding. Our local bike shop is using this method also. 👍

That's exactly the way I have been wrapping since the late 80s. Many say it will curl out, unwrap, bla, bla, bla..... the only time mines have been unwrapped is when it's time for a new bar tape 😂.
Man, i like your explanations! i'm trying to learn how to do it properly but it seems every "bike expert" would judge you if you're doing it "the wrong way". To me, it makes more sense doing it your way and ending up a nice finish!
Indeed Emilien! I get so many people say - things like “yeah but then you have the reverse ridges...” and other nonsense! I’ve been wrapping my bar tape like this for over a decade. I ride 10,000 miles a year and climb 1,000,000 feet and the tape never unravels and I don’t feel the “reverse ridges”. Not to mention I have wrapped thousands of my customer’s bikes this way for 10 years as well. Do what makes you happy - don’t listen to negative people- it’s your bike!! 🚴 🚲
