Sorry, what? "Hi" and "Hope you're well" (no period or comma) as an opening salutation on a cover letter? Isn't this a bit informal? I would certainly go with something more formal like Dear Mr. Smith and likely follow that will a full sentence.

Respectfully, this video needs updated. The graphics are old, difficult to read, dots per inch and pixel ratios off. Good content but I still think with today's changes in the world, you can do even better. You're a really great speaker!

Opening a formal letter with 'Hi' and using the recruiter's first name when you've never met smacks of being over-familiar, especially when the candidate is initiating the conversation. "Dear Mr. Smith", or "Dear Ms. Jones" (I hate "Ms." - but it seems I have to use it). Then should the recuriter reply, "Dear John/Jane, Thank you for your prompt reply..."

Hi, I am from Germany and I have a question about writing a cover letter in British English It is necessary to put a reference line (reference heading) in German "Betreffzeile" in a cover letter, e.g. Dear Mr Hunter, Financial Analyst I am applying for the position of a Financial Analyst, which was advertised in .... is that fine or is it better to write: Dear Mr Hunter, I am applying for the position of a Financial Analyst, which was advertised in ....
