You are giving the exact knowledge that ppl need and one more thing , they aren't fake or anywhere far from truth , love ur videos.❤️ Edit :- I deserve a pin.😐😤😝
Hi Utsav, thank you for reviewing my resume, it was such an incredible privilege to have! You gave some great, actionable feedback. I wish you the best of success with this channel. With your quality of content I have no doubt you'll get the traction you need to blow up. Just don't forget about us when you do :) Tip for everyone - While you're working, collect quantifiable metrics for this purpose exactly. It becomes much harder (or impossible) to get this information after you leave the company. Learn from my mistake!
Utsav... man!!! this is by far the best resume review I have seen in a long time. This is what I mean when I say quality RU-vid content. Don’t change the type of content for clout. DONT.
Loved it! As an expert resume-writer, I will literally send the link to this video to some of my clients to support my "what you did, why you did it, and what reslulted" method. Fantastic video!
I am 95% confident that, given the space of about 6 characters to fit the company name and about 4 characters to fit the CEO's name into, the last candidate's internship was in Tesla.
I never leave comments but this was so helpful I just had to thank you! I'm a QA Analyst trying to set foot in the Automation world so was looking for tips to update my resume and came across your video. Thank you!
I've just watched around 5 of similar videos on youtube and your is far ahead, especially with the second part when you analyse people CVs and point to their mistakes.
Wow I can tell how much planning and effort were put into this video. A lot of great tips that I will apply when revising my resume. Thank you Utsav for the amazing content!! Looking forward to more content from you :)
It was really nice to see how you critique different resume examples. Thank you. For people who can't get their resumes critiqued by someone like you easily, do you have a recommendation for where they can look for feedback?
Wow.. I have been applying to US companies from the UK and I never heard back.. I wonder why.. my resume is 2 page and has quite a bit of text which the careers service told me it was good :| Thank you Utsav!
Sorry, don't take it personally. :) I was just trying to show you how little interest a resume can get when someone has looked at 100s of resumes already :)
Hoping next time I get feedback on my resume, I have sent you, 6 hours after your post, and next time will build resume with more content and awesome Impact... Thank you for time.
Hey Utsav, nice to meet you! I just found your channel and subscribed, love what you're doing! I like how clear and detailed your explanations are as well as the depth of knowledge you have surrounding the topic! Since I run a tech education channel as well, I love to see fellow Content Creators sharing, educating, and inspiring a large global audience. I wish you the best of luck on your RU-vid Journey, can't wait to see you succeed! Your content really stands out and you've put so much thought into your videos! Cheers, happy holidays, and keep up the great work!
Hello sir....thank you so much for incredible support and guidance....i have one idea ....what if we colour code the skills...like for example...if one skill we have strong hands on it...it will be darker in colour (black)...and if another skill is like we know ..or we used in past..but kind of feded out now will represented by lighter colour (grey)..???....it is just an idea ..i haven't used it ..
I have two questions for you sir...... 1) what should be included in an internship resume, Like sometimes we haven't done that kind of big projects, is it compulsory to do big and complex projects for a diploma student? 2) how to become humble like you? is it your nature or you just find out the way to become humble?
Put whatever you have done. You don't need to work on anything complex, just what you are passionate about. It's simple, be nice, help others and don't unnecessarily show off.
I'm a college student. Due to some personal issues I was a serious mess one semester, ending it with a 2.2. I have good work experience and I'd like to prioritise that, but I hear that education needs to be on top for resumes for students. My overall GPA is 3.2 so it's not bad, but my work experience is certainly the one I want to highlight. Would it be okay for me to put education after my work experience and projects, or should I not?
*I’m starting Software Engineering but I don’t have a resume or worked on any projects with any of these languages that I have no experience writing with them but I am familiar on how the languages works:* *Javascript & Python* *CSS & HTML* *C++ & C#* *There are some interesting projects I wanted to try but with no experience writing code It’s difficult for me*
Hey Utsav, great video! I have a small feedback for you. I liked your previous videos for book reviews and software engineering tips a lot more because it appeared to be more authentic and I was more engaged because you weren't reading from a script and your thoughts seemed to just flow out :) I personally think as a viewer, I feel greater connection without the script, but that's just my personal opinion. Even if you do multiple edits, that's okay. Please don't take this the wrong way, just some constructive criticism :) Keep up the great work!
I hear you ... Talking on camera is not a natural thing for me ... also, I only read scripts for the intros/housekeeping stuff, but then again, I am the one writing them as well ... so it's the same for me ... I also don't have time to do multiple edits for the intros and housekeeping stuff to be honest ... just want to get them done and move on to the meat of the video, the engineering content or the actual advice ... those, I don't need scripts for. Sorry that you lose personal connection, but I just don't have more time to invest in those nitty gritty details ... this already takes so much of my time. :) Cheers, and thanks for checking out the video.
Thankyou very much Utsav.Always I come to your video If l have any doubt or facts.Authentic source. Can you please make a video on note taking .Taking notes while learning which could be useful for future revision.
Thank you so much for the video, I have a job the experience more than 15 years, how can I write the cv only 1 or 2 pages? Probably can you please review the cv from the Software developer who has job experience similar to me?
Utsav, how do we quantify the impact that our work had in our resumes? I see that people often write something along the lines of “Improved something by 37% which increased revenue by 6 figures...” etc. in their resume. My question is, how do people come up with precise percentage figures, say 37%, for jobs that are almost always non-quantifiable. Does the tech industry expects to see some vague quantifications of the work that we did? If yes, then why is that 37%, and not 40% or 30%. Please let me know your thoughts on this.
If you build something, you should keep track of the impact the product made. If you don’t know the impact directly in quantifiable terms, usually the product manager or your manager knows
Great viddeo Extremely helpful for developers just starting out for a job :) I have a question please, I am a self-taught backend developer. I do not have any work experience. Is it OK to add the projects that I have done in the relevant experience section? If it is OK, just put the projects names and the technologies and describe what I did in each project ? or just put the projects names and the technologies
Thanks for the clear guidance! This helps a lot. But I have a question to ask. I have 3 years of Data Engineer experience, I changed my position to Software Engineer with a little bit of machine learning, and it's been 2 years since I started. As you mentioned, it might seem there's no consistency in my career. But I'm looking for a Software Engineer job. Is it fine to list all my experiences on the resume like this? 2 yrs of Data Engineer -> 3 yrs of Software Engineer (AI solution backend + AI engine)?
Many of friends lie in their resumes so as to get across the keyword checker and at least get their resume shortlisted and also how recruiters catch this lying. :)
