In this video I share my process on how to write a shoegaze style song like the band Ovlov. From tracking each instrument, to a brief overview of my post-production process in Ableton 11 (Standard). This was a request long overdue. Thank you, guys for being so patient! I wish I can do this full-time. Maybe one of these days!
Oh, yeah! I just discovered this really cool channel from Alex Melton! He's got such great content and he's an amazing musician. Have any of you guys heard of him or his channel before? If not, I highly recommend. It's called Alex Melton Music.

Just discovered your videos. Amazing breakdowns and editing. I would love to see more videos of technical choices during the breakdowns of the song styles. As for a style, I would like to request a "Naked and Famous" type style. I saw the Future Islands, but I think Naked and Famous has more guitar-fuzz driven things with synths being lead, whereas the snythwave is the other way around! :D

Generally with any Artist I do, I like to use one of their most popular songs for viewers who aren’t too familiar with them and also hope the algorithm distributes my videos for more people to see if that makes sense haha🤷🏻‍♂️.

Pedantic, I guess (and I couldn't possibly leave the comments at a vulgar 69), but this doesn't really sound like 'shoegaze' to me. 'Alt-rock' or whatever? Sure. But there's a bit of a clue in the genre name 'shoegaze'. Gazing at shoes. At the floor. At pedals. Particularly delay/reverb pedals. Where's the OTT echoing?

well... "shoegaze" is only shallow... "Only Shallow" by "My Bloody Valentine" that is :-) one of the point to tracks whenever someone asks me the shoegaze question.
