Very very helpful ...it created suspense and tension (especially when the principle walked in ). Moreover it created tension because I wanted to know what was going to happen next and what would be the outcome
Thankyou for this! I have a lil confusion regarding writing dialogues in narrative. Do we start from the next line each time we write a dialogue or we can just write them in the middle of the paragraphs as we wish. Hope this gets a lil more clear!
I recommend you to start your dialogues from the next line. Because it is an important part of your narrative, and writing it in a separate line will guarantee that the examiner goes through it. You can also merge it into your paragraph. But I will not recommend this approach. Apart, there are two things I want you to know. Remember that “properly punctuated dialogues” should be added. If your dialogues are not properly punctuated, you may loose marks in the “Language part”. The second thing is to include dialogues sparingly. Do not include a lot of dialogues in your narrative! I hope it helps.
You can use them in dialogues for character development. But I will not recommend you to use them in your writing. Because they are commonly used in informal forms of writing. But in academic papers (such as CIE), you should not use contractions. I hope it helps.
I will HIGHLY recommend you avoid it. Look, the examiner is checking your creativity in narrative writing (and your plot defines that). If you simply copy a plot of a movie (or any writing), you are risking your grade. So practise 1-2 narrative writing topics from the latest past papers. Think of a good plot, and in this way write multiple narratives. You can use good vocabulary from different writings, but do not copy it entirely (adjust it accordingly). In short, DO NOT risk your grade by doing this.

Let me explain it to you. Setting is the time and place an author chooses for a literary work. And, it is revealed through the exposition of a story. In short, you can introduce the setting where it best suits your story. For example, in Romeo and Juliet: William Shakespeare establishes the setting for his play in the first lines. I hope it helps.
Yes you can use them. But the same instruction would apply over here as well: Use them if they are relevant. But I would advise you to use them sparingly (not more than a couple of times - Just my opinion). Here are some details about idioms: Using idioms demonstrates that you are comfortable with both formal language and informal colloquialisms. When you want to make your writing sound more conversational (informal vs. formal), including idioms can give your writing a more relaxed tone. Because idioms add imagery, using them can make your writing more memorable. So a tip over here is to use idioms in dialogues (if applicable). I hope it helps.

One for Introduction and one for the conclusion. You can make as many body paragraphs as you want. Just remember that the word limit is 350 to 500 words. So keep that in mind.

@@wasaykhan3661 True! I assume that "as long as they are correct" compliments my point. Let me explain. Cambridge examiners are experienced. Therefore, they will understand if your vocabulary is unnatural. This will create a bad impression. The point I am trying to make is that, work on your vocabulary in a way that you use the words naturally. If you will just try to "add the words", it will not benefit you greatly. And yes, a good vocabulary is appreciated!
