Sad but relatable story. I'm not sure if the subtext was intended or not, but it is most irksome because, just as social media platforms are programmed with a goal to keep us coming back to the platform, not to interact meaningfully, this dating app likely intentionally creates an illusion that will make the actual date fail - if it helped people connect, it would lose its customers. Without understanding that programming and intentionally overcoming it, we'll be used by it. Great job!

I’ve always loved working on backstories and then trying to use flashbacks to act as puzzle pieces. Another great video!

Flat arc sounds uninteresting at first, but one of the main things that can make a character with a flat arc still very interesting is their interaction with characters with a not flat(?) arc, and they can also have their believes be put to the test, or maybe even changed temporarily, just to switch back to the starting point in the end.

I'm glad you found the information helpful! Creating depth in characters can be challenging... Each character is different so one element or technique might change, depending on the scenario. Thank you so much for watching and commenting!

Character is plot. No one reads Moby-Dick for the whale.

Plot drives you in, characters wants you to stay, unlikable, unrealistic, badly characters like the ones from the after or twilight movies are examples

yadibla, it's such a meaningless one-liner. The characters are what the story revolves around and what drives the plot forward. The plot is what the characters do and what happens to them. No one reads Moby Dick if he doesn't go out to hunt the whale and sits on his ass in whatever shitty whaling village he is from.
