John Densmore of the Doors had very memorable drum hooks as you’ve shown in other videos.

Lasso by Phoenix and Move Along by AAR are some noice drum intros, the first would make my head spin until I learned it and the later feels like a call to action. Agreed, catchy and simple enough to be sung is key.

Even as a guitarrist, I've written a number of drum "hooks" for by band. Overall, I think many bands (small/local bands) forget the option to write hooks on drums, and focus on song melodies and such, quite exclusively.

Hey man love your vids, little tip to make your drums sound more powerfull and full is to add some compression. I would bump up the ratio and lower the threshold. Otherwise keep doing your thing, i love that your vids still feel like they're from 2016
