Watched this video 3 times today, pausing every couple of seconds to take notes. I found great (free) stock photos and wrote up a short and (hopefully) persuasive FB ad. Wish me luck!
Hi my marketing person who is helping me post my very very first FB AD recommended me to watch your video. Glad I did! Even though I will not manage the AD myself, I am more knowledgeable about the process and I will be more helpful to my marketing person with what she will need to write and create my AD.
Thank you so very much for this. I feel the “Re-targeting or Re-marketing ad is the way to go for me for my first Facebook Ad because I’m trying to solicit the people who already follow and like my page for free to get them to pay for what I’m offering now.” The 2nd ad I’ll run will be the “Offer” style because I’ll offer a huge discount for a limited time. BTW, I took a seminar years ago that cost me $5,000 and it taught me less than you just did. The one thing I did learn from the teaching is that you use yellow in your ads because people are trained to notice yellow as a warning because of the yellow traffic lights. This is why they change the school crossing guards vests from orange to yellow. I’ll come back and tell you how my ads did. You’re the best!
I am going to try the offer style since I want to promote my dog daycare. I had an ad already going but wasn't doing great. I have made the changes accordingly to what you suggested. I love that you showed us what to say and how to say and how to place an ad. This was very helpful. Thank you so much.
Thank you Wes, I run an external cleaning company in the UK and Facebook has been amazing. Our ads our running well however this information is to valuable to miss out. Keep it up 😀👍
Very good ideas in this video. I do not know how to do some of the things you are talking about...like clipping out 5-10 seconds of a video. I subscribed so I'm hoping to learn more. Thanks.
Thank you, really useful, I'm learning how to navigate this and there is so much to understand. This helped me structure my post today, fingers crossed, next, how to actually turn this into an add! Hoping you have a tutorial on that, just subscribed, Thank you.
Hi Wes. I just came across your channel. Loved everything you said in this video about advertising on FB. What particularly good about your presentation was they way you presented the examples used and no hype of generating over expectation. Steve.
Thank you, Steve! I really try my best to explain everything in a simple way so that everyone can understand easily. Watch out for more videos dropping soon.
Amazing information!! Thanks for sharing. It would be awesome if you can do some examples with actual products instead of services, more on the retail side, example a motorcycle store 🙏🙏🙏
Another awesome video that explains by example how to craft a great Facebook ad. I’ve been looking at creating a personality quiz for lead generation for cold prospects. Then retarget them with a free sample offer to get them to test the product (watched your excellent video about the funnel advertising on Facebook). Hopefully turn the Col prospect into a warm one.
Thx Nathalie! That funnel sounds promising! Just makes sure the quiz either answers something they need to know, or provides them with a plan, or next steps so they'll be motivated to opt in!
Thanks for your advice! I intend to do the quiz to get cold customers to warm to my brand. Rather than ask for their email address to retrieve the results from the quiz, I’ll get them to click on a link at the end of the quiz to sign up to receive free scented cards (i sell natural home fragrance). So I’m hoping to get cold prospects to become warm prospects. What do you think?
If I post a “giveaway” AD at the beginning of the AD, but I’m now a few days away, should I post a new ad saying that we are a few days away instead rerunning the same ad?
i need to make lead gen, but I am unaware of how to target my specific audience (50+ final expense for life insurance) or for my other business it would be for an actual physical product
How do you control the content in the headline and sub-headline? When I choose "Learn More" as the button and link that button to a blog on the website for example, it just brings in the copy from the blog. Is it because I am using "Boosted Posts" and not creating it in Ad Manager?
Your theory is sound and I'm using it literally this second (thanks!) but I'm not sure about your implementation. With headlines so long it gets cut off? Do you not put it on mobile? Or are you happy with it getting cut off?
Totally agree. I've found now that FB appears to be pushing businesses to use much shorter copy and that maybe shorter and more to the point headlines and text body are more effective at enocouraging clicks.
Wes! I just watched another video on facebook ads (by John Crestani) and he uses one of your ads as an example to learn from from. Maybe you already know this I just thought it was super cool.
Great video Wes! Your content is extremely helpfull. Very gratefull for your video's. I am strungling however with my retargeting ad for website visitors. Should I focus on the pain points or more on the product using testimonial images and text that show product benefits? Also the destination url is just the product page? Thanks again for you video's and keep killin it on youtube.
That wasn't defined here, the objective should just be aligned with your goal, assuming you can get 50+ actions per week for the algorithm to learn from.
Hi Wes, thanks for the quality advice! I wanted to ask, what would you recommend for ads that are targeting cold audience with value content rather than an offer or alike?
Thanks for demystifying ads. I am just finding my way out of Facebook Ad jail and I don't want to do whatever it was that I did that I don't know what that is.....[stop to catch my breath]...AGAIN!! Most definitely a LEAD GEN. Given what you've shared, what is a reasonable monthly budget for what you've described? And why is this better than Google Ads or IG Ads?
Hey Suzette! I say its best to spend at least $1k if you're really serious. And it's NOT necessarily better. It's all about what works best for your offer and your audience.
I have a question When I publish something on my fan page It won’t show to all the people who’s has liked?? Why??? “ published everyday least one photo and ask my friends and family if they get the content I downloaded on page the say ones in while .. others say only if go to your page I get to see your ads 😞😞
Love your tips! We sell women's sustainable clothing so it could be cool to see some examples for a lead magnet for something like that. We have been using facebook ads as recognition and web traffic generation.. we have gotten traffic but zero sales from FB (since we started adversing on FB in October 2020) so I know you are right about that it's not a great place for brand recognition for a small brand! Thanks!
We could only add written text in the ad so the testimonial should be written too, right? Is there any other way to include customer photo or anything else?
I want to generate leads for real estate properties located in Dubai. Can you guide me how to do it ? Should I use lead ads? What sort of copy and images to use?
Thanks Wes :) Ad copy with multiple sentences will be folded when displayed on the phone, not show all the content. Would this affect the CTR of the ad?
Thank you so much for video. I have a question. Can we create Facebook Ads only for Facebook accounts that we assigned before? I mean, there wont be target group, there will be spesific people we chose. Is that possible?
I'm quite not sure how can I generate leads for one of my clients who runs coaching classes for students who are studying commerce in their graduation. And want to know how can I target the same audience who is engaging on the Facebook ad on Facebook (like/comment) in my next ad and if I can create a look alike audience having the same users who reacted to the ad on Facebook.
You always use "blank" images without text on it. So I interpret it as that ads with text on it (like a product with a price and a discount for example) perform worse than blank images? Thanks!
Im following your video (on my first FB ad) and I see a different screen than what you show in your video... I only get a title and a Description fields, to the subtitle field you show on your end. Any ideas why this could be?
Hey Wes, I posted an ad that goes to page with a FB Pixel, and created a lookalike audience, so as more people click, the better the targeting gets, and the CTR has gone up from 2.7% to 3.7% over two weeks I have a lead magnet and an email sequence set up to sell my online course. The cheapest item is $197. What sort of conversion rate do you think I should expect? I've seen top course creators say they get 0.008% conversions from FB reach to sale, but my initial CTR is already higher than theirs (1% vs 3.7%), so I'm not sure. What do you think is normal/average?
I don't really calculate based on FB reach to sale, I break it into stages... Your CTR is great, and I usually see about 1-5% purchase rate for every email opt-in. 3% is a good, solid purchase rate. Hope that helps!
Do you do consulting? I'm not finding a good way to contact you. I would also be interested in courses or whatever you may have. How to I get in touch with you?
Hey Shane! All my offerings can be found at wesmcdowell.com... don't really have a standard contact us page on there since it just leads to ppl trying to sell me stuff honestly.. everything automated through the site, and you can always contact me on here or @wesmcdowell in IG. Thx!
Hi, thank you for this video, well done for people like me a beginner. I started selling on Amazon. Can I create a business page on Facebook and advertise my Amazon products on it free of cost? or that requires some payment? thank you.
My Facebook ad account was banned. I just got another one from a friend. Can I still use my same face book fanpage that I used before? Hope it won't increase my chances of getting banned again?
I'd like to help Dentists advertise on facebook. I'm looking for the best ways to help them decide and create an offer they can run on facebook. Looking for guidance on how to structure the conversation or find winning offers that are running I can mimick and get inspiration from.
When you said that there needs to be an offer it takes money to push a BRAND, as people will show to see it often. That was the realist shit anyone has said in one of these videos
2 years later I am watching this video, just starting out with Facebook Ads, have done 2 full courses but the clarity you gave in just 15 mins is incomparable!!!! Thank you so much
Thank you for the great video. Will you be able to do a similar video for high ticketed physical products such as watches or jewelry? Thanks. Keep up the great work :)
Well, I hope you’re happy. Because this is all your fault. I had to buy my nephew a mask of the “man of the black lagoon” I’ve also had to watch it about 200 times this month alone. All because I was trying to learn about Facebook ads ! 😂😂😂
Brilliant! Thank you, Wes! This is by far the clearest and best tutorial on this topic that I've seen. I need to create all 3 types of ads, and I'll be using this tutorial for guidelines. Thank you very much, you're the best! 🤗❤🌟
Thanks Wes, so glad I found your channel. Been struggling to get clients as a photographer/videographer for a while now. Looks like I'll be binge watching your videos now!
