@@visions5608 I was never able to finish **all** of it but the teacher didn't mind as it was the first time and I left the class with allot more knowledge and I feel allot more confident on my skills now.

This is the prompt for my L-D debate in a few weeks: The United States ought to prohibit the extraction of fossil fuels from federal public lands and waters. Do you have any ideas for values and value criterion’s for both Affirmative and Negative sides? I have some ideas but don’t really know where to start. For Aff my current value is environment but I don’t know what to put for the criterion. For Neg my current value is economy but again don’t know where to start for the criterion. I hope you can help because you seem very knowledgeable about L-D debates. Thanks for anything you can help with!

I’ve been using util for my value for both aff and neg. You can make good arguments either way. Aff prioritizes people of the future along with animals, whereas neg prioritizes economic growth which makes lots of people happy and live longer.
