Hey! Probably a newbie question but I'm thinking of buying a DAW controller so I can control the dynamic, expression and vibrato with faders. Will be possible with any of these, right? One of the best thing in Guy's videos, is that eternal lively and joyful attitude, making us smile. Other youtubers feel happy only showing their talent (that is great enough), but Guy uses his mind, thinking music while filming and recording the whole stuff. So enjoyable as a musician...THANKS Guy!

How someone becomes so proficient with the hardware and software knowledge for the orchestration to not be interrupted by an inability to understand the processes to get the music from the keys to the DAW and having the patience to make it seem so fluid is quite simply breathtaking.however good my ideas may be they are spoiled by a complete fear of the technology being used to capture it..some folk are just so far ahead in the knowledge curve, I'll just leave it to them to make the music and I'll stick to playing it.part of the awe that I experience from the music is that knowledge that I simply do not have the capacity to grasp the complexity of getting ideas from conception to completion!! The sample library quality alone here is breathtaking.

One of Cubase's most amazing features is retrospective record so when you forget what you play (which I do a lot when I'm in the zone), you can just call it up because cubase records all the time without you knowing :). I find sometimes as soon as the click track goes on, my creativity is hampered by rules.

Wonderful video, thanks for this, fascinating to see the creative process at work. There's a temptation to think that composers such as yourself, simply sit down and simply play it straight off the bat. It's great to see that it's a process, try a chord, find another chord that sits with it and work your way through it. For me, a self-taught dabbler, this is hugely motivating, thank you!

stumbled across your channel earlier and i must say, its refreshing to get a real-time view of the creative process!!! it often feels like all my other "music theory" searches have been just what a C note is and how many white/black keys there are on a keyboard. like sure, i'd love to understand my chords and scales better, but those videos just leave me feeling inadequate and i go back to just dragging notes around until they sound good. seeing the live process of introducing instruments and maybe only using them for just a slight flourish is really enlightening. previously, i've concentrated on trying to use each instrument i add as much as possible... you've really shown me how its OKAY to add a section JUST for one tiny addition!

I don't know a damn thing about music theory, but I am absolutely loving watching you build these song bits. I have learned from you how to take the ideas in my head and transfer them to shareable medium. I find that my ignorance of music theory has not stopped me from doing this. Such a relief to be able to get these bits from my brain into a DAW and clear some much need CPU space in my head. I already had most of the sound libraries that you use in Kontakt, but no way to actually play them until I found a decent MIDI convertor for my guitar. I have a keyboard but it mostly serves as a drink coaster and ashtray space as I cannot play it....at all....not even a little, except to test sounds in the libraries. Your videos have enabled me to a huge degree. THANK YOU! I have a renewed love of music thanks to you.
