Like.. many of these melodies are very likely to have been composed by someone playing around with chord shapes or note intervals on a keyboard through an arpeggiator Some popular synths (from 20 years ago, like the access virus) can add preset rhythms to the notes that come out of the arpeggiator. One could record the midi from this and add some manual edits too if they wish. But an arp is just a simple algorithm for elaborating on the notes that you input. Is this cheating? Is this getting the machine to do all work? Did it make people dance? Did people wanna listen to it? Is this a new concept? Do other people approach music from different directions?
