I got a new high GPS speed today - 77.2 MPH. I'm at 38 hours on the ski, I still weigh 260, the lake is still at 240 MSL, the water temps are over 90, ambient was closer to 85, the ski had about 6 gallons in it, water was not glass and I had it fully trimmed up. Based on what Riva quotes, I am very happy with that number. I did the stage one plus re-flash and the intake only.
Another great instructional video from PWC Muscle. Thanks! I followed the instruction and it was easy peasy. I would only add that the install requires a PC based computer - not Apple. Although I understand conversion software is available for the Mac.
I should have read this 2 years ago and I wouldn't have purchased the Maptuner, now I have to buy an IBM compatible computer. Oh well, I guess if I'm going to be dragging my laptop into the garage it's probably better that it's not my Macbook.
Would you do this as the 1st mod on a gp1800? I was thinking of doing a y1000 fizzle intercooler and ribbon delete and add vacuum port to intake so I wouldn’t have to pull it again and then the map tuner x... thoughts?

I got a Q? What's the difference if you leave one of the electrical connectors in place as opposed to disconnecting all 3? In the Riva demo video they said to remove all 3. Leaving the starboard plug in I head some contacts clicking loading a stage 1 tune in my ski. Is this good or bad?
Im in the uk with a 2009 fxho cruiser only 80hours from new in total! I guess top speed is roughly 63/64mph, my question is........ is it possible to make it faster? if so then how fast, or is it time to trade her in for a gp1800?
PWC Muscle thanks! I’ve always been Yamaha but since I’m talking to someone with more knowledge than me what’s your opinion on the other ski’s currently on the market (top end)? I think it might be time to trade in the fx after all! I can manage the gp1800 but I DONT want it to stay stock, But neither do I want to make it unreliable, I’ve only just come across your channel so I’ll gradually work my way through your vids on the subject. 👍🏻
Any idea of where to install the cable on the MaptunerX in the new 19 Yamaha FX-SVHO? Apparently the layout has changed and there's only two cables on the ECU but I don't know which one to plug the MaptunerX into.
@@Pwcmuscle Thanks, turns out the new layout is much easier to work with and there's only two connectors (the black connector on the right is the correct one).
So I'm looking at a 2019 svho. There have been many factory upgrades to this model. Can I do just a tune or don I need a combo of Ribbon delete, CAI, and tune to make a difference. BTW this is in a SX195. I'm just looking for 5 MPH on the top end.
I havent been inside the engine compartment of a 2019 SX195 yet, so cannot comment on air flow restrictions. Either way, a tune would unleash a lot more power with the biggest bang for your buck, then you can experiment from there.
So can I do a tune to see a increase without Delete Ribbon and CAI? Also I hope the new models do not need intercooler upgrade. I do think I will and the intake breather filter, that seems like a no brainer. If the tune raises the rev limiter I should be golden. @@Pwcmuscle
@@johnmoonan6097 the tune will increase the rev limiter. You'll have to look at the stock intake and see if it is limiting. 4" or more and you're good. Ribbon delete may be difficult depending on how easily you can remove the intake manifold, but there are certainly gains to be had there.
I questioned because I heard you couldn’t and also once the mechanic plugs it in it will show no data of what you were doing when it broke down and if there’s no data they’ll know you flashed the ECU

If you are looking strictly for better fuel economy, I'd try getting an intake and ribbon delete first. That'll free up restrictions that make it harder for your engine to breathe.
Well I already done that, the next step was to change the impeller which I did, and the next step will be adding the Tuner you recommended, how much power do I will get after the tuner application? Thanks for all your answers they are appreciated.
Hey I have a ? I just got the gp1800r and added the stage one Plus kit and I wanted to Know if the dealership kits the map tuner or are they Supposed to give it to you? Thank you

@@nitenite7142 No worries. So they must have a maptuner that they kept. The license is bound to your VIN number though. This means you can purchase another maptuner and it'll work with your current ski/license. You'll just need to get the license assigned to a new account that you create for yourself. Savvy?
