The school called the mother of the kid who was scoring on him. That’s the schools fault. The school should have had a sit down with the soft kid’s parents. No reason why that kid should be crying for getting scored on. This is because of the whole “participation trophy” bs. My son is in T ball and if he can’t be the one who catches the ball he throws his glove down and gets mad. He’s 5. The last couple times he did it I pulled his tail off the field in front of everyone and talked about it off to the side with him. They gotta learn how to try harder not for others but for themselves. The schools don’t understand that these days.

I would just like to throw in, my son is like this. He is 7 and very emotionally immature. He expects people to let him win and is mad when they don't or when things are "too hard". We have never let him win and actually pulled him from school so we could put more effort into educating him socially. He is ADHD and possibly autistic like my brother, so it's not necessarily coddling. But I didn't like that his schools always reinforced this behavior and made it ten times worse which is why he is homeschooled now.

A mom from the opposing team came over and fussed at my son for being "unkind" last week. I asked him what he said and apparently her kid said "we won" and mine replied with "no you didn't. I got a call from a teacher once. Problem was there was a child that kept "disrespecting" the teacher by cracking jokes, and MY child, and some other kids in the class, GIGGLED. The teacher wanted me to do something about my child for giggling because the other child's parents were "uncooperative" when it came to stopping the other child's behavior.
@ax2usn
@ax2usn 3 часа назад
Circa '75 I got a call at work from elementary school: "I don't want to alarm you but your son has been shot." And they hung up! Took me a half minute to get there, crashed through the door, found my son and he was fine. Welt on his back. Some fool across the street shot bb gun into school yard. Had a talk with that guy and made it very clear his anatomy would resemble the shape of that gun if I even saw him outside when school kids were in vicinity. I was one mad mama.
@valiantsfelinesmccarty6678
@valiantsfelinesmccarty6678 3 часа назад
Oh Lord how do you stop a child from giggling? That sounds like the teacher has extreme mental health issues. I would start asking around with the other parents if there are other issues and be really watchful of your child because that means the teacher has a serious problem. I'm not kidding This happened to my sister and my sister is like a really really shy kid and my mom couldn't figure out why my sister was having all kinds of problems in the class and it turned out the teacher was going senile I'd had the teacher and the teacher was not very well liked but I was struggling myself so I didn't really pay attention to things as to what was why the kids didn't like the teacher 5 years later my sister was in his class and my mom went to that teacher conference and she went Oh do you remember him and I said well I was having too much joke cuz I'd already come through you know the trauma of that other teacher and we just moved that teacher was abusive that I had been in the class so I was just really not with it and move had been really bad I just won't go into all this crap I was going through at the time so the teacher really honestly ignored me because I was hiding in the back of the class. But my sister kind of is a little bit snotty a little self-assured but she wouldn't be that way with any instructor She really was good at you know sucking up to the teachers so I knew she wouldn't have gotten the teachers attention like that. And it turned out my mom was shocked when she went into the interview The teacher was totally all over the place he had Alzheimer's! He was just trying to make it through to his pension. She had to turn them in and then when they really didn't investigation yeah he was totally whacked.

One of the most important lessons that i ever learned was that I was NOT GOOD at everything. It made me realize my humanity and have compassion for others.
@Staenhus
@Staenhus 2 дня назад
This is true. With that said, I think there might be a fuller picture here. Did the two non-goalies team up to score (which makes it basically impossible for the goalie)? Had the goalie played soccer before? Did they refuse to let him switch when he wasn't having fun? I don't think that this warranted a principal's visit, to be clear. This should have been handled by the teacher. But I don't think you should blame the kid for being sad, because he just wanted to have fun and didn't. Depending on his age and circumstances, that's perfectly fine to get upset about. It just shouldn't have been escalated to the principal. To call the kid "soft" and ridiculing him is stupid. There is such a thing as "going easy on the new kid", and while that's not owed anyone, it would've also been nice of the other kids to do, right? I think there could have been a lesson taught to both sides here.
@kadenjames177
@kadenjames177 2 дня назад
@Staenhus That may very well all may be true and there may have been unfair play calling but that also exists in many sports circumstances. The final results may not have been achieved fairly and no matter how much arguing you do the referee wont change his mind. All in all the point I was trying to get across is that there are moments of failure we all have to experience. It devalues those experiences when a parent or coach acts in a childish manner about the results. All in all my statement was never intended to be an indictment on the child but the immature adults around them. Hope this clears everything up. 👍

They started following her home and calling her names so I started picking her up from school, then they would say aww is mummy picking you up? Apparently school could do nothing about this because it wasn't on school premises. I went to the school and said they better tell the girls if one more word gets said, or if they push my daughter again, I will send her older sister to sort it out. School said I couldn't do that, her sister would be in trouble, blah blah, so I said don't worry I will make sure it's not on school property. They didn't know what to say to that. My youngest son was being bullied in 3rd grade, because my kids were the "new kids". We'd returned to the states after my hubs got out of the Army. They'd been in the DoD school near kaiserslautern, germany. I'd called the school, i'd been to the school...nothing changed. I turned to my son and said next time hit back. That fighting isn't the best solution to a problem, however sometimes it's the only solution. 3 days later the school called, he hit the kid once. The kid ran crying to a teacher. My son got a 3 days suspension. We stopped at mickey dee's on the way home.

This is how it usually goes. I never heard of a school calling a parent about something this dumb. If that’s the case they’d call when kids don’t share and snatch things too. This sounds like her kids lied and was hitting the kid on purpose while playing soccer. I might be wrong but….this doesn’t sound right. Educators and principals have too much on their plate to call about something so minor that happens to at least one kid every single day

These types of “growing” moments are important for kids to experience. They feel it deeply, and as an adult it hurts to watch. But it helps them realize that if they want something, they have to work for it. If they want not to be bad at soccer, they have to practice.

A sort of similar event happened with our son. He was in 2nd grade. For physical fitness the teacher took the class outside to play soccer. She assigned my son to play goalie. He'd never played soccer before, but wanted to learn. I got called from work a half hour away due to trouble. Here's what I learned from the Principal and 3 other adults when I got there. Another boy had been playing soccer in the local child league since he was 4. He felt that he was more experienced so should be the goalie. So he was trying to bully my son to give up the position. My son told him that the teacher had told them what positions to play and he was going to stay where he was. As witnessed by the Principal, the teacher and 2 Aides, the other boy started kicking my son in the legs. As the adults headed over to stop this, my son had had enough. While the other boy was playing soccer, my son had been learning Karate. When the count of kicks from the other boy was about 5 or 6, my son used his karate knowledge to apply a front thrust kick to the other boy's chest. According to yhe adults his kick was powerful enough to lift the other boy off his feet and land him flat on his back while he turned and walked away to the other side of the goal, leaving the boy crying on the ground. Then the adults arrived. They told me my son was not in trouble as he had defended himself then walked away. The other boy was suspended. That's how it should work. But t Hen the next day the school called me to tell me the other parents were claiming their son had lost an $800 diamond stud torn out of his ear in the scuffle and demanded that my wife and I pay for it. Yep, ear was torn. Ummmm... 1st off: School dress code forbade ANY jewelry on ANY student. 2: Our son, by all accounts, had not scuffled with the other boy and had never come anywhere NEAR the boy's ear. Kick to his chest. Landed flat on his back. No contact with his ear. 3: Your son started the fight. Our son defended himself only after he was struck several times. 4: This is not a well-to-do little town. Why would you spend a month's mortgage payment on a diamond ear stud for a 7 year old boy? 5: Prove that he lost the ear stud in the fight with our son and not when you smacked him at home for losing the fight. We refused to pay and never did. Throughout elementary other kids told me that other boy continued to antagonize our son. Our son never spoke of it to us. When the boys were in high school, my son's friends told me that other boy had been trying real hard to be friends with my son. But was rejected with the reported words, "Tell me why I would WANT to be friends with you."

As I got older I'd get my turn in there once or twice but I always lost. He had the same theory You've got to earn it. Now as a child I didn't understand the life lesson that was being taught and I finally beat him when I was 16. Yes I had one many times as a kid he would scratch on the 8-ball he would sink the eight ball on his turn That's not winning That's just winning by default. When I was 16 I beat him out right I called my pocket I shot the eight ball It went in the pocket that I called and I won. I paraded around his house for a solid 10 minutes It was one of the happiest moments in my life but after I was done parading. I still went up to him I shook his hand congratulated him on his great game and great effort. Because he taught me sportsmanship too.

Exactly. I taught my nieces and nephews, nothing gives anyone on this planet any right to put their hands on you, if anyone does run to an adult or call 911 immediately and report them. My sister called me at work and said I had to go with her to my youngest nieces school because something I said got her in trouble, on the way there I was nervous because I said a lot of things. When we get there are two sets of parents, a security guard, a police officer and the principal, my niece another girl and a boy. The parents were for the other little girl and boy. The adults reported my niece and the other little girl jumped the boys, it seemed those parents were upset about it, yet my niece and the girl were the only ones crying. I thought the two bully the boy and were remorseful after getting caught but I asked. The other adults asked but weren’t accepting the girls answers. This is what happened. The girls gym had water damaged so they had to share the boys gym. The girls were playing volley ball the boys basket ball, that boy deliberately threw the basketball towards the girls, so he could get close, but ge kept doing it and each time his creepiness kept advancing, the other boys chuckled as he did this, then he did this again, the girls didn’t bother with the basketball, but as he reached for the ball between ny niece and the other girl he pinched their behind, my niece pushed him back as she kicked his legs, dropping him, then landed on him pinning his hands with his knee while the other girl held his legs. They both told the other girls to tell the coach, that’s when everyone were brought to the principal’s office ready to expel my niece and the other girl. But words are powerful, and I asked, “So, did you guys questioned all of the students that were present, found out, impartially that the boy sexually harassed fellow members of his student body?” That’s when everyone in the room interjected uncomfortably and why my niece and her friend weren’t punished and the boy was suspended for three days. But his parents eventually transferred him out of the school. School, get your shit together and know our rights.

@@squanchygetttinLots of sexual assault and harassment happens in schools. Children copy what they see adults do which is why you need to know what your kids are watching.

I taught primary school for a couple of years. On playground duty on day, a boy comes up to me crying because some other kid had called him stupid. I replied well do you think you are stupid? He thought about it for a second and replied no. I then said, so if you don't think you are stupid why let it bother you. If you know you are not stupid, it shouldn't matter what he calls you, you know better. He was so happy, not because I told him he wasn't stupid, but that he realised it himself.

Oh my God this doesn't even surprised me I am not even shocked that somebody cried over this and they got in trouble! Good for you Mom for standing up and making a video and calling these people out this is nonsense! I agree with you if this happened to me as a father of three I would be absolutely livid I wouldn't get myself arrested but I would let them know that this is BS And I absolutely would make him understand why I think it's BS

I was sucker punched in high school but was able to fight back. Principal told my parents if i just wouldnt have fought back i wouldnt have also gotten in trouble. My dad cut him off an told him he raised his kids to protect themselves an the boy got lucky he wasnt in the hospital because he taught us if they do it once make sure they can never do it again. The look on the principal's face was priceless!

Losing is a part of life. That teacher should have utilized it as a teachable moment for the upset child. "Sometimes, you can't win. That's okay. You can try again or let's go do something different."

My son is over 30 now but over the years I had teachers call me to tattle on stupid spit. So I would tell the teacher face to face if necessary:" You just say the word and I will whoop his azz! Just say yes and I'll do it, you can even listen in just say the word!" I never got a call from that teacher again. Worked every time.

My school did stupid stuff like that too. They had this stupid room called "Back on Track" where they essentially made you sit at a conference style table with the back on track teacher and make you be friends with each other. Like how about teach people how to be civil with people they recognize they don't like???

I was called a few times because my kid fell... I asked, "Is she okay?" Teacher verified she was okay. Then I was like, "unless sick, seriously injured, or missing, do not call me midschool day. I have to sleep for my 14 hour shift tonight. If you think it's note worthy, write a note and we'll set up a meeting if it's needed."

I am a behavior counselor at a middle school and I can tell you this I would NEVER call a parent about a situation like this. This is a situation where kids have to learn how to work stuff out on their own. Kids need to learn how to “fall down and get back up” on their own. This parent should be pissed
