In this video, Tom (an Overcomer), shares his story of three years of pain, how he found the Overcome Pelvic Pain program, and how he has progressed beautifully on his healing journey back to strength. Interview with Michael Hodge, co-creator of Overcome Pelvic Pain.
From Tom:
I had CPPS since December 2019.
I didn't know what it was for about a year.
I found the condition 'Prostatitis' and it ticked most of the boxes, I then found CPPS and videos on RU-vid.
This led me to finding your video, week 1, month 1 of which I followed for 15 months, twice a day (for the majority of this period).
I'm now at week 2, month 3 in the course and feel I'm about 80% back to normal.
Inside the interview I asked Tom:
-How did your symptoms begin?
-What did you try before doing Overcome?
-What changes did you see from doing the Overcome program?
-What is the biggest piece of advice that you have for someone that is suffering from CPPS?

I’ve been in pain for 18 years. GI doctor after GI. All my symptoms started after a car accident. Just started pelvic therapy. It’s already making a difference

So glad that PT is helping! Definitely look into the mind body syndrome information on this channel, as an initiating incident can be perceived to be all of the problem, but the body does heal, and with so many years of chronicity, you brain has the ability to reactivate neural circuits of pain over and over again, which means that this is brain created, and not just regionally located. You can get better, I'm here to help.

Hey Michael success stories overcoming CPPS are really helpful . I am trying to overcome CPPS and have been fighting for a month or 2 and my symptoms are getting better but still not pain free . I know it takes some time to heal . How long it took you to recover and when did you see improvement?
@TransformPelvicHealth
@TransformPelvicHealth 11 месяцев назад
Hey Alek! It took me 5 years, but that is because I went down many paths that were not working. It's part of why I do this work. I don't want anyone to suffer for 5 years if I can help it. Most of the guys that I work with seem large improvement within 3 months and if they stay on track with their transformation, 6-12 months later, they have no more symptoms. The Overcome program works really well. If you work it. -Michael

@@TransformPelvicHealth hey Michael, thank you for your response . I am doing your stretches everyday “ overcome pelvic pain “ , and it does help but not right away . I am seeing result within 3 weeks , my symptoms have reduced to where I can use restroom normally without bad burning in my urethra and anxiety/fear is a hardest part , but I have not had panic attack for a week or two. I have changed diet to decrease inflammation. Thank you for your content , please make more videos as I feel like I am not alone in this journey ! God bless you !

@aleksandrpokusaev9175 Месяц назад
@@EKuba-fj4rf still in the process . Stretching does not really work so I work more stabilizing my core and some light strengthening exercises . Now I see why Michael took 5 years to recover because it’s very complicated and find a correct approach . I feel like when I stretch my muscle gets weaker and hurts more eventually making symptoms worse . But everywhere I would look online #1 is stretching then other things such as diet , stress reduction etc .

Tom, just curious: did you have any history of IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) and/or constipation issues? Did your pelvic pain impact your bowel movement?
@TransformPelvicHealth
@TransformPelvicHealth Год назад
Hi there! I am not entirely sure of the answer to these, and am not sure if Tom will see these questions. Otherwise, we hope that this was still a useful interview. In many cases, IBS and constipation are related to pelvic pain; in that they can inflame the pain in the pelvis. And, vice-versa. Also, IBS and CPPS are both clearly defined psychophysiologic disorders, when there is no known structural issue. -Michael

Hi Michael, I relate to lying down in the morning feeling like a reset. Is penis head hypersensitivity / general dull burning feeling something you see often? It’s my main symptoms
@TransformPelvicHealth
@TransformPelvicHealth 5 месяцев назад
Yes, I see those penile symptoms reasonably often, they are also mind body syndrome, unless you have an acute bacterial infection right now or a rare anatomical abnormality.

Yeah, lots of guys have similar symptoms, let's see if anyone else replies too. Mind body syndrome is explanatory for how the brain is creating this dysfunction, definitely listen to my 6 episode podcast for more: ru-vid.com/group/PLXKHW90sr9tkj3_oW_m467pCX9bxjrEd2

Hi there. Thank you for reaching out. It is very common for pain to come and go, sometimes increase in intensity at early stages. Here is a link to an article that will give you more information: transform-mens-pelvic-health.helpscoutdocs.com/article/42-the-movement-routines-are-increasing-my-pain-is-this-normal If you have any further questions, please let me know. Antibiotics help as long as you take them. Why ? Because they have muscle relaxing properties as well. Capsaicin pills help a lot despite what doctors say (to avoide spicy foods) Capsaicin can release muscle tention , it is powerfull pain killer , it has powerfull antiinflamatory benefits , it increases serotonin and improves mood. In combnation with capsaicin gel it can work wonders.
@TransformPelvicHealth
@TransformPelvicHealth 9 месяцев назад
That's interesting how antibiotics have helped you (or at least anecdotally) beyond just removing the bacteria. Personally, they did not help to mitigate the pelvic floor tension or pain; and for many of my patients they do not help in this way, but perhaps for some, they do.

Do u recommend limited masturbation during treatment?
@TransformPelvicHealth
@TransformPelvicHealth Год назад
Hi Barry, We recommend that, while you are in the early stages of your recovery, to listen to your body and maybe take it a bit easy. We are not recommending refraining from any sexual activity, but listen to your body and allow the stretching and releasing to work before increasing frequency or intensity of sexual activities. Hope this is helpful. Reach out if you need any further support. Best, Shannon, Team Transform

Sex and mastubation are so different. Sex is better and is less pressure on the PF. Sex also involves movement of the hips which is good for the PF

Please i have question, do CPPS people have PE like me, and how to solve it i want to marry soon and only people like you can understand me
@TransformPelvicHealth
@TransformPelvicHealth 5 месяцев назад
Hi there, CPPS does exacerbate PE. Ultimately, both PE and CPPS are the same thing: mind body syndrome (psychophysiologic dysfunction). The road to letting it go is the same. Follow the guidance in my 6 episode podcast series: ru-vid.com/group/PLXKHW90sr9tkj3_oW_m467pCX9bxjrEd2 /// and then, you will start to rewire your brain + penis with specific practices. Join my program if you would like to be fully guided on this.
